Hi All, Hi tlander13!

I've noted that my Clean Pepsi (here the -amazing- service done by Johnny Depp, https://forum.replica-watch.info/fo...s/9969168-cf-pepsi-picture-leaks-blro/page198)'s bezel has a little horizontal play, in addition to already known softness in rotating.

While the latter is acceptable, the horizontal play drives me crazy! :)

Do you suggest to install a Gen retaining ring and/or a Gen click spring, to fix it?

Thanks!

Here is a vid I did.
Any chance to get it fixed?

Thanks,

Does anyone know if it's ok to remove the CF gmt bezel with the bezel removal tool shown below? I've read you should not use this tool on a sub as it might damage the click spring, but the click spring design on the gmt is different, so was curious if it's ok to use on the CF gmt bezel....especially since mine appears to be on super tight with virtually no gap between the case and bezel (ie this tool seems like it would be perfect for the task). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

That's what I use. Not had any bother. Lay a sheet of plastic (shopping bag) on it before you roll.

Gen DW part number is 3135-16200. Pay attention to fonts, there are some different fonts on older ones that have the same part number.

This is the DW i have for my CF Pepsi.. a little skeptical if I’ve got the correct font DW and not for a 5 Digit. Hmm @KJ2020

thank you!

Have you inspected the hytrel ring? Maybe it's damaged or too small? Perhaps an undamaged or beefier one would help? That's where I would start as it will certainly be cheaper to replace the hytrel ring compared to replacing the click spring, retaining ring or bezel.

Hope it helps....
I fixed the bezel's play in minutes, using dental floss, in agreement to several thread I've read here in the Forum.
Just two laps under the bezel and it now feels so good: its softness disappeared and the horizontal play almost too.

That's an acceptable fix sometimes. You can even floss out grit, grime and excess lube that way haha. Occasionally you may need to re-do it if you use the bezel a lot. The floss can get shredded. A potential downside to this technique is sometimes it can create or increase a gap to the case. The things we do to fix our reps...

I'd like a more professional fix, but I did't know how to move step forward.
the bezel's gasket could be cheap enough to test it as per solution, but in agreement to my watchsmith maybe only a complete replacement of the bezel's spare parts would fix those issues, but expensive

So I'm in the process of doing the KJ lip mod and I noticed the red portion of the insert is slightly translucent. So I got to thinking maybe applying some paint to the underside of the insert would change the color a tad. And I'll be damned it does! I applied a strip of black acrylic paint from 8 to 12 on the red and from 0 to 4 on the blue. The blue appears totally unaffected in any light (too opaque). However, the red actually stays a little darker in direct sunlight....so a little less of that orange/red color that comes out in direct sunlight. Still not really that close to the pinkish red hue of the Gen, but I think a modest improvement from the orange/red that's a dead giveaway in the sun. What do you guys think? Pics are below.

With Indoor lighting there is almost no change in color (maybe a hair darker). However, in direct sunlight there is a subtle but definitely noticeable change in the red color. I've only tried black paint so far, but I'm going to pick up some fluorescent pink neon paint tonight and test further. Although I suspect the red portion of the insert is not translucent enough to allow for the true blending of a color below. If it's sunny here tomorrow I'll post some more pics!

I don't think so....I just put a fresh coat of black paint from 6 to 12 and shot the video below indoors under a 3000k LED flood light. I see almost no difference. What do you think? I'll shoot the same video outside in the sun tomorrow to compare. Stay tuned!

Any difference. Try to sun bro...and with pink fluo!
thank you ;-)
