Count me in for a cheaper one. I would not even mind a stainless steel version without the plating to be honest. Any rough estimate in what it could cost? I'm hoping that it won't break the bank and i can set aside money for it. lolI expect the final price to be between 12-15k Euro with a fully serviced original Movement that was used for the London Crash including case and buckle. I also had my watchmaker acquire genuine hallmark stamps for the case, so the details are expected to be as close to a great crash rep as we're gonna get without going gen.
If there is any interest in this watch with a non original Movement and gold plated stainless steel but correct proportions and dials for a lower price, I'd like a little upvote or message so I can start a separate thread after talking with the mods so I can start working on a "cheaper" version that at least optically satisfies the crash craving of the community. If we have enough interested for such a downspecced watch, I'll start to calculate the cheaper costs. I think we should aim for around 80-100 preorders for this to become as cheap as possible for a small batch run. That's it for now.
I randomly stumbled across this forum and made an account just for this thread, i would also be interested in a cheaper piece in stainless steel / silver.Count me in for a cheaper one. Unfortunately I've never came across a good rep of the crash... not even a bad rep of it.
I hope that the attention towards this historical piece grows so the repmakers think about producing it... Price point of the gen should be pretty much convincing
Any potential updates on the case?Just a quick update: Due to the small batch of cases, dials, glasses and original movement the crashes I work on will be more expensive than expected. The first case in 18k Gold is done and the movement is with my watch maker in switzerland as we speak. Said watch maker also produces the dials and works with my goldsmith to produce the crown. First Dial should be done in about 20-30 days. I expect we will roll out only 4-5 Crashes in autumn. I will post pictures soon. Just a headsup: For the very first one (which I will keep) the cost is around 17-18k Euro all in due to the cost of developement and swiss labor prices... I'll visit him soon and ask for some more pictures of the current progress to post here.
And if you ever feel the need to sell it, here i am !!Yes, it seems production was stopped a few years ago and the last people which reported getting some said it was old stock from random dealer outside china (like Vietnam or Thailand).
I had the opportunity to buy one at the time but I choose to pick a Breguet Hora Mundi over it which turned also to be a rare piece nowadays! You can't get it anywhere.
