I dont know where you are based, but there is this page Xometry - Maybe they wold work on a project like that. I had the same idea, since I have found a 3D Model onlineDoes anybody know any goldsmith oder Modder willing to work on the case with me? I have a 3D scan of a cartier crash and have worked with a 3d Artist to create a 3d-printable model or all the case Parts of the crash. I also sourced three original movements suitable for a 1981 crash and now need a goldsmith/modder, that can help turn the 3d-model into a gold case and I need someone that can work on the dials and glas wth me. I plan on selling two of these watches to forum members... if anyone has any Idea on a suitable partner for this project, let me know! thanks
It seems like no one really wants to make a decent one since the demand is not that high on them. I imagine there is a cheap version of one out there for $100-200 but the dimensions would be wildly off and it would have a lot of flaws.Hello everyone, are there still no crash replicas at all? Thanks
Thanks for the reply man I got added in some telegram group infinityget and they immediately said they have one 600$ generally i have no idea what they are are they good, trustworthy etc. They have a big cataloge and asnwer quick. They are also one of the reasons I started digging deep here. Have you heard of them or do you know where I can ask about their credibility quality of reps?It seems like no one really wants to make a decent one since the demand is not that high on them. My pleasure it’s been a while since I’ve been in the loop on any rep tbh. While I haven’t heard of them directly, I can give an educated guess on what they might be if it’s not an official seller. There are several possibilities that it could be including a good rep however here are some of the likely ones. If they are sending you photos that look super good it could be a bait and switch. If the item looks very mid/ basic, it’s a rep that’s out there. I would suggest asking them for detailed photos as well as who made the base watch and the movement inside of it. If they say things like “custom made” or “Swiss movement” these are potential red flags. You have a lot of third party seller who may send you an item but they twist the truth. They promise something more than it actually is but basically you get a base rep.Thanks for the reply man I got added in some telegram group infinityget and they immediately said they have one 600$ generally i have no idea what they are are they good, trustworthy etc. They have a big cataloge and asnwer quick. This is well said. Just to add to this point for @Martin9 , there is some other generic watches that have the crash design but are not a crash watch. One said watch is a combination of a Rolex sub and crash shape by Laarvee. It's not for everyone but its decentish. Its powered by an automatic so that's a semi start. However, it's still not a crash. Hopefully, as @DamienV said, maybe we will get a decent one now that cartier is picking up more popularity.As far as I know, there was/is 3 main replica/homage for this watch :
- A cheap quartz replica which has not been available anywhere for years ;
- A cheap quartz homage (no brand) which you can find on Ali or other website like that for 75/100$. It's thick and not the best quality but it's the closest you will get at the moment ;
- An even cheaper quartz homage (still no brand) which you can find on Ali for around the same prize. The case is even further away from GEN than the previous one but it's not as thick (and it's only in gold with diamond).
The first two ones are discussed in this topic, the later one is a new release I saw recently while browsing.
Cartier is becoming hype all around the world so I guess we will see more and more of them around (and hopefully a half decent crash).
I doubt the seller you are speaking with has a legit product but you can dig it to see what is going on as suggested by @Mercedesslr .
It's really a shame that no one has tried to make a more realistic take. This really is a
I expect the final price to be between 12-15k Euro with a fully serviced original Movement that was used for the London Crash including case and buckle. I also had my watchmaker acquire genuine hallmark stamps for the case, so the details are expected to be as close to a great crash rep as we're gonna get without going gen.
If there is any interest in this watch with a non original Movement and gold plated stainless steel but correct proportions and dials for a lower price, I'd like a little upvote or message so I can start a separate thread after talking with the mods so I can start working on a "cheaper" version that at least optically satisfies the crash craving of the community. If we have enough interested for such a downspecced watch, I'll start to calculate the cheaper costs. I think we should aim for around 80-100 preorders for this to become as cheap as possible for a small batch run. That's it for now.
