Breitling Avenger Gmt GF vs Gen

When comparing shades of cream you really NEED to have all the lighting conditions AND the camera settings to be identical or the comparisons will be useless.

I don't have a gen or I would happily provide the pics, but I can guarantee you that I could take pics of the exact same watch and produce pics with 100 different shades of cream just by varying camera settings and light source etc.

I guess what I am getting at is just because you see pics that make it look like one might be better than the other doesn't necessarily make it so.

Go with the GF. It is a nice watch. Just enjoy it and don't worry about it

Thanks for the advice...yeah I think i'd go the better quality GF alright regardless of what the pictures look like.....main decision I actually have is the order of which to close out my wish list over the next 6/7 months.....have IWC 3777, tudor pelagos, breitling avenger II gmt and avenger II seawolf cobra blacksteel and bandit if a good version comes out on the list so trying to decide what next! Thinking the pelagos or GMT but leaning to the pelagos just cuz I've so many breitling....

Is it maybe a good idea to contact our TD's about the bad datewheel GF uses right now.

They can contact the factories and this leads to a way to solve this issue.

Maybe someone here on the forum has good connections with a TD?

I know in the Rolex section they do this frequently, it helps.

I wrote to Lucy yesterday about it as I have one on order and asked her to point it out to the GF boss. I said he is getting a very good reputation for Breitlings, with the GMT on the super rep list, which is good for sales. But also that this has now been restricted to the 1st batch with the correct DW (i had omagad change it). So hopefully they may change it back in future.

That's great news! Look really nice on the bracelet I must say....I wonder is it polished or brushed? Hard to tell from the pictures....gen I tried on was polished which kinda made it look a little blingy....

Thanks @WatchestoPlay I got an email 2 days ago from Lucy with 4 alternative B watches from GF on bracelets as she knows I want the GMT on bracelet. One of the pics was of the GMT but the picture GF used was of the gen and taken from the B site, so I questioned whether there was a pic of the rep which you have now answered. Anyway great news because I can get the bracelet version, its definitely polished you can see that in the pics of TT if you zoom them, also they say they have used 316F steel for the braceelet which is supposed to give a better finish when polished so no point using that for a brushed finish.

I had an order placed on the Colt but I switched to the GMT. Polished bracelet looks 10 times better, at least in pics. Polished Gen PRO 3 looks wonderful on the avenger GMT

Trusty time website claims in the description of the avenger gmt "correct date font" as per genuine. Have they updated the datewheel or is it the old description?

Colt has a larger case and the colt end links are more straight so I doubt the bracelet from one watch will fit the other

I would love to have the colt on the polished pro3 but I would have to switch the end links. I doubt that having a brushed end link on a polished bracelet would look good

See below how curved the avenger endlink is?

It might fit but it won't look good if it does

The bracelets are the same on both I believe. If you look at the side profile of both colt and avenger you can see that the bracelet doesn’t match the lugs. So it’s a generic bracelet for those cases IMO. And 1mm difference in case size wouldn’t affect the bracelet

Same bracelet does not necessarily means same end links. If the shape of the case is different, not only the size of the case, then you need a different end link to fit without having a SEL gap

I am not 100% sure but from the look of Trusty time pics, it really looks like the Colt Bracelet is brushed

I am thinking that bracelet would look killer if you brushed the side links and left the center links polished. May be a little less bling, but still enough to properly blind someone...

Look at pics on the Breitling website, the bracelet doesn’t really fit either watch’s lugs. Which leads me to believe that Breitling just slap that generic bracelet on whatever watch

I like the bracelet brushed all the way, polished bracelets tend to collect scratches easily..
