I have been away from this thread for too long. I honestly that this is a must have watch if you are a rolex fan. With light modding and tc parts you have a Rep that is as close to gen as any tc or wm9 sub and for less money (relatively speaking) . I see no problem with living with the watch for a while before nodding...except for the tc bracelet which is a must. The bp bracelet and clasp are really rather crappy.

Daniel, you have opened the gates my man. Be prepared for the influx. :) The better question is what didn't he do. lol We didn't pop the crystal out.

1. Sanded the back of the insert to lower it just enough, then epoxied it very carefully.
2. Milled a beveled recess for the gen crown tube to sit flush with the case. That was a bitch!
3. Installed a gen (Generic) Click spring.

The rest I'll let Q, que you in on the rest.

R2 when are we doing this to mine?

Did you get the WM clickspring or another one? Since you know the feel is right, i'd prefer to follow your footsteps.

P4GTR,

On the clone movements> The base plate that you mentioned as "curved rather than straight"; that only applies to one of the several clone makers, not all of them.

That actually looks like an older ETA with that particular shock assembly.

Great looking watch though.

nowadays bp factory no more asian clone movts, so they only sell "refurb swiss" , the price difference is minimal

My watch isn't running anymore. The hairspring looks like it may be magnetized, so i'm going to try and fix that now.

So it is swiss ETA then?

Not sure how much refurbishing gets done. Look at this, tooth on the gear is sheered off. It's no wonder that the movement stopped already.

How long did the movement last you?

I'm sure they refurbish them just enough to make them tick when leaving the factory.

I demagnetized the watch. That was not the problem. The movement is shot. Broken teeth... won't start at all now. Wore the watch all of a day.

Anyone willing to point me towards a good option to purchase replacement movement for a CONUS member, i'd appreciate it.

Walking away now.

Edit: Also looks like i'm going to need a new caseback o-ring. Anyone that can point me in the right direction for one?

Reburbished movements are trash. Same shit as the omega p.o ceramic. And really inexpensive for BP factory.

That's a scary pic :( Mine died after 2 days of ownership too, along with other niggly BP factory issues- the teeth had sheered off on my bezel so it didn't click properly at certain points.

I wonder if mine had one of those refurbished movements.

You're going to want the submariner instead then. Of course, you could put a date mag on your SD, but that would be a bit screwy.

Not bad. Not bad at all! Congrats, hopefully it stays like that. I was on TRF reading and one guys sub he set 120 days before or something and it was 80 sec slow... That's less than 1 sec loss per day!! I'd be happy with anything under 7 sec... That's amazing for a Chinese replica watch and movement (I'm assuming A2836 apologies if it's swiss) for it to be running 1 sec per day..
