I just emailed sead asking about the BP 16600. Marvellous Replicas also has the BP Sea Dweller. Same watch right? Crown Gards look a little different on the Marvellous Replica BP Version.

Go with any TD here, but for BP sead is the man :)

And to reiterate...
The gen 16600 insert will fit. I have one too...

Get the TC sd bracelet and hands for sure. I'd even get the TC sd dial as well.

Movement: go for Asian clone ETA 2836-2 - bulletproof solid movement! Can't go wrong and any watch maker can work on it as parts are interchangeable with ETA...

^^^^^
This is the exact formula i am following (as have many others here) and will give you a damn near perfect sd for less than $500...

:)

So I have emailed Sead, and TC. Maybe in a few weeks I will have a BP/TC 16600 masterpiece of my own.

Hey Sheriff,
I've been lurking on this thread for quite a while and recently ordered the BPSD from Sead. I also ordered dial, hands and bracelet from TC . I opted for the Swiss movement from Sead for an additional 40 bucks. I just figured that would be a superior movement. Will that be problem when it comes to modifying this watch?

hey pal u should be fine modding the watch.tc dial needs sanding or the case.tc hands even fit the cheap high beat.and the tc bracelet as you know will need a tiny sand to fit perfectly, good luck bro.

I had to lightly sand the edges of the sel's'' to get my TC bracelet on my old BP SD.
I also had to sand the Gen insert to get it mounted! So it vary watch to watch!
But Sead sources the best examples of the BP SD I have seen!
Sora will also pic a good one for you!

They are polished in the Gen. I have had 2 in the past few months an f serial that I modded with a red ym second hand and an a serial. I habe also seen NOS 16600 at a few different dealers here in dallas that had polished hev's. I know it isnt from wear or polishing, its factory.

These pictures are of an F serial (have since sold) I bought this one LNIB, it was never polished.

It is my understanding that the older model (lug Hole) SD's came with the polished He Valve. Our model, here, has the non polished He valve. I don't see anyone here mentioning that they modded their SD's by polishing the He Valve. I could be wrong of course but..

The Gen SD's made up to 2002 used SS HEV's which were polished and those cases had drilled lug holes.

Then in 2003, they switched to a titanium HEV which is what this BPSD has.(and no drilled lug holes)

There were a few Gens made with a mix-up of polished SS HEV's and drilled cases during the transitional period.

The SN# of our rep starts with "M" which dates it to 2008. So, the HEV should be Ti.

I may have missed it, but has anyone tried getting the hev out? I ask because I have a gen, and that would be a cool as hell thing to see if it would fit.

Look at the bezel's on all three. The SSD is the only one that is gen like. The other two look like thinner Sub bezels.

Right but he said that one was aftermarket I thought.

NM, I think he meant insert.
