I have a question out here about the bp sd.

I've had my watch maker test the watch after lubricating the gaskets to 6ATM.

Tried 8 arm then 7atm and crystal popped off both times.

6atm crystal stayed in place and no bubbles in the chamber.

I was wondering if anyone has tested past this using the stock bp crystal gasket?

Or any options to get it to a higher water resistant tolerance?

I wanted to take this watch on my trip next month that will include swimming, washing hands, snorkeling, beach activities.

Thank you

guys the polished hev is NOT a problem, ok!! more et more gen has it so polished by many revisions and polishing during the years

I'm not so sure about that. I was always under the impression that the earlier HEV's were made of stainless steel and came polished and the newer one's are made of titanium, and that's the difference in the color.

As usual, I admit that this may be totally wrong but I'm sticking with that theory until someone shows me different.

And for Boredum: At 6 ATM I would feel comfortable wearing your watch as deep as you could possibly go while snorkeling. I test my watches to 5 ATM and use them at the beach and pool regularly with no problem.

The only option to go higher is to replace the gasket with a new one or have your watchmaker use UV crystal glue on it and try it again.

@KBH: Considering the HE valve you are right I think. If you polish the newer Ti valve it would not show the colour of SS steel.
Now we have to find out the year Rolex changed the valve from SS to Ti.

This probably has been asked multiple times but I can't seem to find an answer. TD's advertise different movements and have pretty big price differences with this watch. But which TD and which (movement) version is the best choice right now? I'm looking for the most reliable movement right now, the 2813 is the cheaper one but many people seem to acquire that version.

Thanks for your help.

Maybe it's a good idea to have a separate topic where people can share their experiences about this watch and which version they have bought?

Edit: By price difference I mean that Ryan from Intime sells the 2824 version for $238 and Trustytime their 2836 (which is the same?) for $278 or $358

You do know that 1atm equals 10meters? 2-3atm should be more then enough for a holiday watch for swimming and washing hands

Correct, 1atm is 10 meters

However, in most watch manuals:

3atm = washing hands
5atm = showering / surface swimming in pool
10atm = safe for ocean swimming but not diving

I'm trying to get as close as i can to 10atm so I know it's safe. But I'm looking into a couple of modifications in order to reach that high amount of water resistance.

Yes, I was wondering about that. Ryan said me that it was a BP model but I thought all the BP were identical regardless of the TD.

Yes, they all say that. But it's only because they want to keep a safety margin. Looks like they write "water resistant 3 ATM" on the dial in order to increase the price of the Watch, but they are not sure that it is actually water resistant. Why ? Just because most often, in order to save money, they don't test every single Watch at the end of production.

If you have your Watch tested 3 ATM with success, you can swim with it without any risk. If it has been successfully tested 10 ATM, you can use it for scuba diving.

If a real good and serious brand (like Rolex or Seiko, for instance) tell you "water resist 3 ATM", you can be confident with them. But if it is Guess or Armani... well... I wouldn't take any risk ! :D

That is just beautiful! Exactly how I would build mine with lugholes. Did you change out the dial and bracelet with TC parts?

stunning piece my friend.

I am hoping to find this watch in the for sales section. Otherwise your post is a back door sale and an infraction. If it's there, great, if I don't see it tomorrow, I'm deleting your post. I'm sure it will be there though. ;)

hi all , i just received my first bpsd .

nice watch , but the bracelet is not good at all versus the bracelet on my exlorer2 . it feels tinny . can anyone tell me if the TC one is more of a solid feel ?

also , the crown does not screw all the way in , I have attached a couple of photos , anyone know how I could fix this ?

many thanks for looking.

would I be advised to change the dial and hands when changing the bracelet ?
I will have to send this out to someone to be done so if anyone can recommend a modder in the u.k. I would be grateful

special thank you goes out to benjji who advised me over the last few months , thanks mate .
