Do you have to remove the bezel or any thing?

give it a good push, it should just pop out, a press is better, but if you haven't got one you can improvise. Just remember, once out you have to get it back in, so a press is ideal !

Thanks Adrian, I do have a press, which i can use to press it back in, however, i could find no way to support it while pressing it out that i felt comfortable with, i didnt want to support the watch by the bezel or the bezel insert. and i remember that you stated somewhere it was not advised to remove the bezel with out a proper bezel tool, which i do not have.

Right now im thinking of a wooden dowel with a swatch of thin leather over the end and tapping lightly with a hammer (holding the watch with my hand.) I was unable to push it out by hand.

Does this sound ok to you?

I actually dont need to remove it all the way, i just need to move it slightly , as when i was cleaning the inside of the watch i managed to get some tissue fibers caught between the rehault and the crystal.

You don't need a bezel removal tool, I used one at first then realised you don't need one at all !. In fact with hind sight that was poor advice. Easiest way is a "Stanley knife" blade, go under the bezel at the 11 O,clock mark and lever steadily up, don't try and remove it in one go, although it may come off.

If it won't come off but will lift slightly, move to the 1 O'clock marker and do the same, it should lever off nicely. Don't be over forceful, just steady, ease it off.

you'll see why these points are critical to removing it safely when you have got it off. There are also two more lever points at 5 and 7 markers.

Tried to pick up an Asian eta from a TD - we went through 5 watches for QC before I gave up on it!! I know all reps have their errors but these were pretty poor IMO. I've bought several reps before and have always approved QC first time round. Has anyone else found this? Would it be worth switching TD?

What were the reasons you declined? 5 times?

A combination of problems with the pearl, DW, 12hr and 9 markers - the TD rejected 2 of them himself for bezel issues after taking a 2nd look (I missed these problems on the photos). Just wondering if others are finding the same issue as I have read that BP QC can be hit and miss. Yes it's a 250 dollar watch but I've had many 250 dollar watches in the past that have been very good!! I'm not expecting it to be perfect.......

I know i said i was going to wait till the weekend, but i just couldnt wait, i used the dowel with the leather end and was able to tap the crystal out quite easily. I cleaned the crystal and the rehault and pressed the crystal back in :).

I AM going to have to wait till the weekend to reassemble the rest of the watch as i am going to be fitting my TC dial and handset.

Wish me luck !

Good luck mate, take your time and for gods sake don't even touch the dial, they scratch so easily, even with a soft cloth you can still mark them !!

As for the QC issues, my TD sent me a watch that looked great, and when it got here, the caseback engraving was awful. I forged ahead hopeful that while Adrian worked on the watch the TD would send me a better caseback. 2nd one came...crap. Then Adrian told me that the bezel is screwed up too, and that even after the click spring mod, it's not staying put.

So...I have to agree with the poster above...QC is beginning to be an issue with these. Now my TD and I have agreed that I need a replacement case (because I need a new bezel along with the caseback) and we're splitting the cost (which is kinda f-ed up, but I don't want to buy a whole watch just for the case, nor spend time arguing). Now TD in question is TAKING FOREVER. Meanwhile Adrian is sitting patiently with my watch in pieces, also waiting.

What a boondoggle. At least the final product will be worth it. In the meantime, I'm about to just buy a 21j for the case from another dealer and tell the original TD to go pound sand.
