I would assume they are talking about the High Beat movement
That BP factory put in these SD?
I don't know the exact movement number and model?
But I have owned two of them..
Both which I mounted ETA hands on! One I had ...had the TC hand set on it,,ETA hand set
And the other which had Clark's ETA hand set on it!
Which a member here super Lumed for me!

Hi guys,
did anyone ever tried to swap the bezel ring of the BpSd?
Maybe with a Clark or a Startime?
The bezel teeth of the BpSd aren't very sharp and I'd like to know if it's possible to change it.
Thanks.

I have seen a member over at RG ...Put a gen bezel assembly on a BP SD but I don't know what he had to do to get it on it?

Thanks Rudy. Good to know even though I wouldn't plan on buying one. I'm sticking to ETA or ETA clones from now on. At leasst I can fix most of the problems with those.

I'm going to try my hand at a full service on an old 2836 soon as I get some watch oils. That should be interesting.........

I'm Sorry KBH ...Let me correct myself...I didn't put the hands on the high beat movement's myself...But i commissioned other's to work on these high beat movements for me!
Like i have said these movements do have the same canon pinion as a ETA ...But they are fragile and cheap made! And i ended up buying a 2836-2 version and modding it!
The stem is very fragile and the date assembly is very fragile..They tried to replace the regular clone's with these movements! I would assume to save money!
But the high beat movement's are not no where as solid as a clone 2836-2..Just my two cents!

So yes your very smart to not buy one...Even though i didn't have any major problem's with the two i had...There quality is poor compared
to the regular clone ETA movement's!

Thanks Rudy, I'm looking for that post.
My watch really needs a new bezel, the action is also quite loose and uneven.
There's also a lot of play when in position; honestly the action of the bezel from my old Noob subC v1 is better than the BpSd.
Looking forward to fix it.

You can use the old dental floss trick to fix your bezel assembly! Just wrap dental floss in between the small crack between the bezel assembly and the case!
It will tighten up the assembly enough where there isn't any play in it!
Just a temporary fix until you can source the parts you are looking for! The BP SD does have a very close to gen spec bezel assembly on it!
But not the exact specs as gen! Also the case will not accept a gen crystal without epoxying it in..So the case is not true gen spec either!
But it is very close and is the best bang for the buck rep you can buy for the money! Good luck..Happy modding!

Supposedly the Clark bezel click spring is a cheap fix and a great improvement. I'm happy with mine although I already had to replace the crown and tube since I got a case set with no crown.

Got a gen 703 crown in M2M sales right now! Brand new crown!
Can you change the tubes in these BP SD cases? I'm looking for someone to fit a Gen spec tube in mine!(I know it takes some milling to make it work right?) Love to get a gen crown on it!
I know JMB over at RWG can do it..But he stays pretty bizy..

For all who are interested: I took the BP SD apart and want to share some pics with you.
Tube is changeable but the thread has to be retaped to take a gen or a TC tube.

At first the movement with eta like fine regulation.

Rehaut and case is one piece

Movement ring is a piece of crap. Simply cut out with an inappropriate tool

Crystal is miles away from gen spec construction

Crappy surface on BP's SEL

Here is TC's 93160. Same problem. Crappy surface on SEL. TC's 93250 is far better in terms of finish

Hope this is helpful for all modders and buyers!

You ordered the 2836, or the 21j unit? The BP I received has the removable rehaut and a very decent movement ring. I ordered the 2813 unit though.

I received the Bpsd from Sead almost 3 weeks ago. It is awesome and even if it has the 21j hi-beat it keeps great time. If you plan to buy a good quality movement in the future, go with the 21j and save some money. Otherwise as KBH suggests spend a bit more and grab the A2836 version.

Just to add about the 2813 versions. I I ally decided to open mine up and take a look at the bezel construction and such as well as regulate the movement.
Bezel construction is so much better than the older BP version and much more user friendly, although the click spring could be better. The "retainer" part even imitates the gen's shoulders. Had to tweak it a bit to get to both sound great and not be super stiff. The insert is also a plus as you can snap in a gen or gen spec insert with no issues.

The movement in mine is a dg2813 and it beats at 21600 bph not ideal, but has no stutter and has been at COSC specs for three days straight. Will leave well enough alone. When I'm ready for the gen dial and y3135 then we shall see.
