Apologies for being the lazy dude who doesn't read the 234 pages of this thread, but the impression I get is the BP SD classic has been evolving since it arrived and the latest version has improvements on the original. My question is does the latest version take a gen insert? And I think I saw someone say the bracelet has actually improved quite a bit, so is the TC bracelet still a necessity? Thanks :)

"If it ain´t broke don´t fix it" so I still use mine otb - and it´s waterresistant to at least 3 atm in the drytest as it is, unless I start messing around with it. Have a TC and this bracelet wears equally well, the assembly of the TC (how links are connected) is different on the TC and through the lupe the crown engraving is better, in normal life it´s fine to go as is.

I don't find anything at all bad about the BP bracelet. Seems the same as the original Noob bracelet on the SSD as far as looks and feel. I haven't looked under a loupe for differences.

As for installing the insert, you have to start with one side in and work your way around till you have it all in the bezel except the last little bit and then press like hell until you hear it click. Sometimes you may need to turn it over and press in the last little bit on something hard like a corner of your desk or a piece of wood. In the video installing the bezel insert is a about 1 minute in. You can never install an insert with any kind of press. It won't fit and will just flatten the insert.

SMPFAN is correct. The SSD dial is starting to look a little vintaged.

Love the look of the dial...Very cool! As you can see! I have been struggling with the ideal of building a holes case Trip six...The gen dial i have coming has cream color markers like your dial...But one of the markers are missing and have to replace it...I just hate to lose that natural patina by reluming the whole dial..Plus the hands have to be relumed to match ...
Hopefully Crazy can pull it off!

Yes, I like that creamy color, too. But for a triple 6 it's unusable because it says "swiss made". Correct would be "swiss t 25"...
Another possibility wohl be to build a 666 with service dial. But these dials say "swiss" and should not be creamy because of SL...
Nevertheless the dial is very nice. I've got the same one here waiting for building up the watch.

Unfortunately gen markers are totally different considering construction. So you would to have changing all markers or at least all rounded markers with a giver's dial from a rep.

Hi guys, sorry for my ignorance as I have not followed this thread for quite a while now. May I know which dealers carry the latest version of this watch at the moment?

Hello, Thinking on buying a gen insert for my BP so I thought I would compare it with a gen 16610 Sub insert. I think the BP looks great. I have a guy that I picked up the insert for $165 shipped so I might buy the gen SD for the hell of it. Im sure this has been compared but I did not read all 235 pages.

I've just had a build finished and had the lugs drilled on mine to fit in with an A/Y serial SD. Has anyone else done this and fitting gen springbars before, just wonder how they'd fit?

My BP SD from Sead arrived today. I choosed the asian movement at 28800bph. It seems they updated the case shape a little bit. Mine does not have these mega slanted lugends. They are looking more straight at the end of the lugs like gen. Very happy about this.

Does a gen insert fit in the BP SD? my 16610 looked too big sitting on top of it.

Does anyone know a good watch smith in the U.S to service a movement?

My Seadweller has been loosing time (ETA clone) since the day I bought it, months ago. I sent it out to Tonyy for an overhaul a few months ago, and it still looses time. It's really bothering me.

Thanks, I sent him an email. I love my SD, just the movement since day #1 has been awful. I paid a fellow member here to overhaul it, and still the same result. Hopefully someone else can get this thing running straight.

How much time is it losing? Is it ETA?

BP Factory is known to install crappy old, used movements in their "ETA" powered reps.
