And is this movement in some
Of the other BP releases? Seems a mine field making sure you get the correct one, haha

The new DG3804 CHS movement is in about 12 new BP releases. They are usually listed as DG2813's but they will be more expensive than your normal DG2813 beater. And less expensive than the ETA siblings.

Look at the hand stack to tell them apart from the regular DG2813's. If you aren't sure about a certain one post a link, someone will give you a positive ID on it.

I fi d the large GMT hand hole surround that you previously pointed out very helpful to ID the DG3804

It will help distinguish the DG3804 from the DG2813, true. But the BP/GMF ETA 2824 CHS uses the same frisbee GMT hand hole surround, so it's not unique to the DG3804.

Just received my last rep (RG Daytona), so its time to order the BP GMT II. A few questions:

- Is it still a good bet ordering the new DG3804? Most dealers are not even listing them anymore. Should I still give it a try? Should I go for the reliable ICHS 2836?

- https://www.pf-868.com/makers/bp-pr...oke-ss-rg-black-a-2813-chs-free-shipping.html - is this the lowest price found? $248? If you have a better one, please send me a link, even if its not from a TD. I have a guy that buys the watches for me in China, and I use those links to ask for a better price.

True - of course - but the thing just catches my eye when it sits on top of the hour hand, not so much when it sits on the bottom

All these ones are using this "new" low beat CHS GMT: https://www.pf-868.com/watches/rolex/gmt-master/bp-lite-2813-chs-movement.html

Just a caveat, Perfect Clones is not a Trusted Dealer here. It is at RWG and RepGeek, so you might have to be registered there in case you need some help from the mods.

Gents, what do you guys think of the base of the GMT hand?

It looks kinda big to me, like the circle seems to have a larger diameter when compared to gen.

This is the well known frisbee hand hole surround as mentioned several times by KJ2020.
I keep wondering how much it will grate.
Wait for the ARF/VRF with the new movement (and pay twice as much) or get one of these... and a 16710 pepsi.. .decisions decisions first world problems ain't easy.. .

For some reason I don't find the GMT hand hole surround quite so bad if it's in YG or RG.

Here's what a correct hand stack should look like

Lol you got that right dude! The way I see it all of them have immediate problems. The ARF (has terrible date font), and the VRF (has a poor bezel insert).

Additionally, I've heard even the GENs have issues on some of their GMT movements, so those clones don't make me feel to comfortable either specially at 2X the price of the BP.

I received yesterday this BP 16710 Pepsi, let me review it a bit here.
Got the watch from a non-TD here.

1rst : I'm no pro, this review is more based on feeling than technic.

2nd : the watch actually has a problem with its 2813 movement, I'll get to it at the end of this post.

3rd : of course there are pictures! At the end of my little review.

This BP watch looks and feel quite nice honestly, and pricewise these series seem definitely to be beaters. But there's always a but...

My "pros" :
- Very nice bezel, the colors and numbers are quite good and close to gen.
- IMO beautiful dial : deep even black with nice markers, hands are ok. Reading time feels visually great. Well done by BP.
- The clasp feels a bit light but it looks good, firm hold.
- Nice crystal and good cyclop.
- Date font is allright and centered.
- Everything on this watch is well aligned.

My "cons" :
- Turning the bezel gives a sloppy feeling, with cheap clicks. Better not play with it.
- Bracelet feels cheap. Although I read gen can feel a bit tinny sometimes, I think a good oil bath will help, even maybe switching for a better quality one.
- Caseback is too fat.
- Crown feels rough, and the different setting positions feel quite loose. Hour hand setting is a bit unprecise and the whole movement gives a uneven feeling and feels fragile. Which gets me to the problem encountered with it...

Movement : it's a 2813 CHS, setting date is done by moving hour hand, so in 2nd position.
When I got the watch yesterday I winded it about 30 times. No problem so far.
I set the date (by passing dates forwarding them) then the time, didn't do anything for GMT yet. I then wore the watch for about 2 hours. The watch keeps great time, I'm happy and put it on my winder for the night, which is set for 5 hours turns back/forth, rest for 9 hours.

This morning I saw date flipped without problems, but the watch had stopped around 0h45. One gentle shake and it started again.
Ok then... Put it back on winder, gone for the day, and when getting home now it is stopped again. Shaking it, it starts again as nothing happened.
When shaking it close I can hear bits moving, and as the watch seem to stop and go by a snap, I guess there might be a problem with the rotor.

Any opinion anyone?

mrsullivan Take the back off and look for loose parts or empty screw holes. Parts can come loose in shipping and then intermittently get caught in movement parts that will halt it.

mrsullivan : does your winder turn both ways? My winder does, but my 2813s rarely charge on the winder even when I have it set to bi-directional rotations.
I believe (I’m no pro either) that 2813s charge the spring when rotor turns in one direction only. Better movements typically charge in both directions.

Also, the sounds could be the typical 2813 rotor noise, or some loose gears(?). Just pop open the case and spray the whole thing with a bunch of WD-40.
Kidding, don’t! If it is just the rotor noise, there are some good threads here and sister site on taming 2813 rotors and their noise - multiple opinions and I haven’t found a consensus yet. I’ve tried multiple methods, but not comfortable recommending any yet - I think I’ve ruined 2 2813s trying to silence the rotors with mobius and gun oil. They could also have just crapped out like unserviced 2813s. I’ve also had 2813s and 2813-gmts die for no apparent reason even when I didn’t fiddle with them.
Hope some of this info might help a bit at least.

BTW, nice looking watch! And great concise review! I’m looking into these but don’t like 2813s, let alone 2813 gmts. Your review and pics are very helpful. And I’d like to hear what some of the experts think about the issue you raised. And also hear how it turns out for you. Thanks again for sharing.

From owning Vostoks with autowinds I agree it may be your rotor or some other parts of the autowind mechanism. I would open the case and check for any loose parts, remove them if they are there, and then just fullly wind it every day
or send it to a watchsmith
