Whilst it's obviously good news that we finally got a gen' spec' 5 digit GMT case, there are still a couple of niggles worth pointing out.

It looks like someone wasn't paying attention when they were planning this case. In the range of Rolex 5 digit GMTs there's one model that stands out from the others in terms of CG shape and case height - the 16760. It's taller than the 16700/16710 and has different shaped CG's.
These cases have the correct height for the 16700/16710, but they've got the CG's from the 16760, AKA Fat Lady. Not really an insurmountable problem as they're larger than the 16710 CGs, so it's easy enough to reshape them.
These 2 particular cases were ordered by yodog from his supplier and are engraved 16760 between lugs and stamped on the case back (no I didn't do the stamping/engraving, don't PM me).

In order to be a true 16760 case would need to be about 0.3mm taller as the top of the crown should be level with the top of the case, but nevertheless they still look pretty convincing as a 16760 Fat Lady GMT - the high arch to the lugs, once lightly reshaped helps give the impression of a plumper case, and the CGs are pretty much spot on for a 16760.

As always with cases from Vietnam, there's work to be done to get things looking right.
The lugs are too wide, with too high a curve on the top, the chamfers are too wide.
On the bezel ring, the outer edge is polished when it should be brushed, the teeth already have a soft finish to them so no need to polish again.

Retaining ring is too tall, meaning there's a gap between the case and the underside of the bezel. The click spring is mono directional, it should be bi-directional, it's also made of low grade steel, so it may not last very long.

The tension ring is also low grade steel and will rust unless treated (one of them was already covered in rust on one watch).
Stock crown is crap - the tube unscrewed with the crown so it's not even torqued/sealed in place.

Polishing, brushing and general finish needs some attention. There are sharp edges/corners, which is typical of cases from Vietnam (with the possible exception of Phong and MQ).

Below is a before and after comparison, after is on the right/the bottom.

I'm looking forward to seeing yodog finish these 2 watches - with a gen dial, gen insert and crystal these are going to be great looking 16760 frankens.

What case did you use is there a link to project, Was it the TW or TC case u used , I think I saw that, Add some pictures of yours please

Hey mate, I used the TW case I think you’ve seen the project, this case had correct rehault depth. The 16710 is very very close to the 16610 case just the crown guards and crown tube placement is different. As explained in the link above this post, those Vietnam 16710 cases have incorrect rehault depth, they are more like a 16750, the 16760 has pretty much the same as a 16710 also. It’s the only reason I never bought a viet case that rehault would annoy me lol.

I’ll add some pics when I get a chance a bit later

VR3185 is indeed the best true clone rep GMT movement available now. Using one in a BP case will likely require some re-milling of the inside case grooves that surround the movement, and repositioning the tube hole.

Will the VR3185 be able to take gen hands without mods? I think I read somewhere that some modding had to be done?
Also is there a reason you recommend VR3185 instead of VR3186?

Cheers mate!

There's only one VR GMT movement. VR3185 is the name RWI gave to it to differentiate it from ARFs SH3186. The VR movement is much more like the gen 3185, the ARF movement more like the 3186, hence the name. One of the key differences is the jump click, with each rep movement having a clone part like its gen namesake.

Gen jumping hour click springs compared

Both rep movements *should* take gen hands given no rep tolerance issues in the hand posts.

My gen came with a Sub 93150 bracelet as noted in the review. This was not uncommon at the time.

Yukiwatch usually has a decent rep 93150 bracelet listed. I have one of those on one of my BPs. Looks like he is out of stock atm, you could email him.

I have a TC bracelet on another one.

Also JF Sub bracelet is better than BP, intime and maybe also Trusty still lists it under Rolex Accessories

Thanks mate.

I've found a jubilee aftermarket 62510H. It has 555b. I've found also 502t gen. Do you think that can fit on my bp case? I've do the holes on the lugs.

You can't know for sure until you try it. There's no standardization between aftermarket and rep. The first aftermarket jubilee I tried on my BP 16713 Serti worked though the end links have a slight gap. It doesn't bother me.

Here is my build.
Start from a 16570 bp.

Reworked case (cg, drilled lug holes)
Slim caseback
Change cristal and gasket
WSO bezel assembly
Gen insert

WSO bezel assembly is not the best, i’ve to enlarge cristal retaining ring for fit correctly the bp case+gasket.
Anyway i think i’ve archived a good result.

Please let me know what you guys think.

the case is too high, I think it needs to be worked to make it thinner.

this is mine (sorry for the bad photo)

It's pretty good overall bro. Your case work is nice. The CGs are thinner than gen to start with so you can't really do anything about that unless you add metal.

Is that the crystal gasket visible in your pic? I know what a pain it is to get varied parts to play nice, I put a rotating WSO bezel and retaining ring on a BP 16570. I wasn't happy with my first result and redid it. You really shouldn't be able to see any of the side of a crystal gasket.

Also, what happened with the datewheel, and what movement is this? I would want it centered better both horizontally and vertically.
