mnkoshka Wow man you could seriously earn some good money here modding these cases for others. In fact, I'll take that one when green, haha!

Really nice work bro!

EngelmatchThrasher I wish I had the time to take on mod work but I’m just so busy at the moment with my job it’d be hard to find the time to get things done within an acceptable time frame haha. I might consider it in the new year as I’m testing some jigs for case shaping. The machining aspect isn’t to hard but can be time consuming to set up properly. The case shaping is the most time consuming to get an acceptable result for it to be worth doing. I’ll keep progress updated here and see how things go.

Thank You, I will talk to Adrian ado213 as I'm sure he can do it especially with the info contained in this thread, Its a shame about the WSO bezel
was this the part you tried? and what was bad about it? I was going to use this along with a gen insert and gen dial and now gen crystal and maybe TC DWO as I have extra

https://www.ebay.com/i/171689013466...dh-HmJQ-TooI1QS2-rwZW4kNuUb5IuIBoCKKUQAvD_BwE

My BP 16710 arrived yesterday and I'm really impressed. I had to add a extra link to accomodate my large wrist but I had one from WSO and its perfect, My only complaints are the date magnification on the cyclops sucks and of course the dial could be closer to genuine but rally this watch looks great

ah good news mate, yep thats the bezel set. KJ2020 said he bought a few and they were fine so I think I just got a bad one.

im actually annoyed my CHS movement dial and datewheel is the the eta location :( so I went to install the crystal and the date window was was off to the right lol. I’ll have to use the BP dial and overlay on my CHS movement and reinstall plus move the cyclops back to its original position.

Thanks mate, yes I looked at adrians work.... he’s does amazing things with the seadweller case and I was hoping to do the same mod, I wanted to know the method he used to hold the case in the lathe chuck, there’s a few ways to do it but was curious if he used an arbour or a collet. I have the latest BP SD but haven’t broken the case down to check the crystal measurements... I was hoping BP may have updated the specs lol probably wishful thinking. One of my next projects will be the 1675 BP case but will remove the crown tube and micro weld a dowel in to then re-drill for higher stem hight for 2824 modded to gmt. Shave the case also Hopefully this will give me the nice correct crown tube hight.
mnkoshka : outstanding metalwork! You nailed it. I have tool-envy. Been trying to lower a rehaut on an old case with limited tools. I need a lathe like yours, plus some other tools. I’ve been doing all my metalwork by hand with a dremmel, hand tools, and sandpaper. Figured out a way to setup my dremmel and hand drill as lathes, but haven’t tried it yet. And I think it will be tough to get as precise cuts/shaves using a hand blade and a makeshift lathe attached to a bench compared to a true heavy lathe. Nevertheless, your pics just opened up a whole new world of case-work for me. Thank you! And great work on that case. !

Thanks bro, trust me that’s how I started out over 15years ago doing the same. after watchmaking courses and a toolmaking/machining & engineering trade things became very interesting as to what is possible if you have a good imagination. You don’t need a big lathe... even a small cheaper lathe is good enough. It comes down to how you hold the job and measurement.

I see this thread has been kicking on of late KJ2020

Hinclimincli - which Tiger Concept model did you source your caseback from?

William from Tiger Concept has sold me individual parts in the past, so I'm thinking to just email him. If not, I may just buy one of his 5513 case sets - if they fit, $89 isn't bad, with a few bonus pieces to play with.

I’ve got three, a Bond sub and two of their GMTs. I used one of the GMTs, these are the ones I got: http://www.tiger-concept.com/6542-watch.html

Has anyone tried out the BP 1675 version yet? I read some threads from 2017 that’s shies it can take gen spec dial and bezel assembly. Keen to know if the one they offer now is the same case?

It uses the same bezel assembly as the 16710 bro. Octagonal wire arrangement. So there would be some modding needed like you did on the 16710 for a gen bezel to fit. I'm not sure about the rehaut aperture but I think it would be at best 27.0mm which makes a gen dial at 27.3mm very hard to swing. Rep dials are usually bigger, around 28.0mm.

Ah man so disappointing, I’m reading on another thread that the BP 1675 case was the same as or is cartel case so just wanted to confirm or know if the cartel is still available. Really keen to get 1675 going now. Trying to track down a 2824 CHS to finish my 16710 lol , the movement I had was some weird 2836 CHS and the stem hight was way too low to fit the case. The BP dial didn’t work with it because of the gears rubbing the back of the dial also

This is thread about the 5 digit GMTs bro. There are many threads here discussing the 6 digit model Batman. Please read up in a few of those threads and ask your questions there.

I can't wait to see your special project finished. When will you post it?

I’ll update soon once I get the new assembly.

Also reworking an crappy old 16710 case into a 1675. New machined rehaut welded in a long with slimmed case and gen spec caseback seal groove. Weld Added material and machined crown guards to reshape. Not finished but it’s getting there, here’s a few pics if interested

Wow. Great work! (I have lathe envy). Keep it coming, I really enjoy your work and watching it progress.
It’s seems like so much to add material and then shave it down. With your skills, you could start with a blank block and work in into a spec case. Amazing
