Can't draw it because my photo shop skills are subpar to say least. I would have gone with a stainless steel case and then use PVD for the case colors. I also would have gone with a sapphire crystal and bezel. Then you would have had an ultimately a similar visually timepiece with a much more robust build. It's a bit of a letdown because when I first saw this I was actually excited and looking forward to eventually obtaining one. Then when I learned it was this bio ceramic resin garbage for the mid case I lost most of my interest.

One thing that came to mind when I've been researching this over the last 12 hours or so was all of the nonsense about replicas degrading the brand through inferior quality etc. As if making a plastic resin mid case and a plastic crystal which will get scratched up and scarred probably within the first day or two of being worn isn't also degrading the brand, perhaps even more so because this is coming directly from the manufacturer? As has been mentioned, this might be just swatch groups way of trying to draw some people back who were on the fence about purchasing a replica.

A place of darkness and light a.k.a. EU
Nicky H. can shove this one up his behind and keep "pissing his pants about the Bucherer deal" (to quote a Swiss insider). 😆

400 bucks for this thing seems like a bad deal if you look at what Seiko and Citizen offer as diver alternatives at this price point. But these will sell just as crazy as the MoonSwatches did — which means normal customers like myself will never get one. Another quote, seen on Tiktok today: "I'll wait until the Dhgate versions pop up and save $370". I second that motion. 🤣

official replica with a different value proposition

for thousands : you get hight end watch, true metal and top movement
for hundreds : you get plastic with entrygame movement

consider it as a recruitment : from thousands of low income buyers, may be one will get rich later and will afford the "real" one
while it please also ego of hight income having "real" one, can laught at plastic's owner.

this new operation is quite nicely done
-improved bezel
-real strap

i even may consider to buy one, for vacation in foreign sea
my real divers only for "safe" place (at my office!! :) )

What’s the movement like - isn’t it ass? Can’t be serviced - so, what, you just toss it in the trash after a few years?

Replica oblivion…
I like the watch. I like what swatch have done and the fact that they have dragged a pretty much dead in the water brand like blancpain out from the sea and into peoples discussions.

My only gripe is the price and that stupid NATO ( I hate nato straps with a passion )

As for comparisons with Seiko and citizen for the same money…..well….. Seiko and citizen are just lazy ass companies churning out the same crap year after year using the same movements and the same boring designs. Dollar for dollar I will always avoid buying anything from those 2 companies, I’ll always defer to a micro brand or to something left of centre.

For this Colaboration, I prefer the blue ( Atlantic ) version. Although the movements are a bit meh in technical terms the 90+ hour PR is amazing and the fact they made the whole thing water resistant for light swimming is also a bonus for those who want that.

A good release with a shit strap and price.

If it's water resistant to swimming and beach days ill definitely buy a rep. And swap out crystal for a after market sapphire, boom. This would be a great water beater.

Sure it can be " serviced".. You simply send it in, pay an exorbitant fee for "repairs" . Meanwhile they pull out the old movement drop a new one in and ship it back to you.... Everything I've read says to expect a service life of a couple years at best from these. It's very sad when I think that the crappy 2813 movement is actually superior to this in just about every aspect.

Unless it has a screwdown crown made out of some steel or other strong alloy along with the tube, I don't see this being much good for swimming or the beach, or at least nothing that I would personally trust.

Eh, screw down crown is a myth about water resistance. It only prevents movement under water. The gaskets are what are important.

Agreed. That being said I feel a lot more comfortable personally not having to worry about the crown getting bumped open while I'm swimming. The more I research this upcoming release and the more I find out, the more my disappointment swells. Since the price point is going to be on par with a nice Seiko or Casio, I really am disappointed in multiple aspects of this. Everything from the cheap case to the unserviceable movement that seems to have a very short lifespan from all I've read. When I first learned of this I really wanted to like it and my initial instinct was wonderful I'm going to grab one if I can get one at a decent price. Now I am disillusioned.

I'm gonna wait for a rep. Hopefully cheaper than 50 bucks. Then beat the shit out of it.

I wouldn’t pay retail (or grey market) for this or the moonswatch, the rep price point is where I’m at with these.

I like the design much better than the moonswatch and like the nato vs the horrible (IMO) velcro strap.

I’d try a couple of reps if they make them but that’s it.

100% I'm with you. I'm looking forward to the DHgate release and comparison thread after someone gets a hold of a few. What is probably the saddest point is if they use a 2813 movement in the replica it'll probably be more reliable than the actual collaboration release.
