I'll get the cheap DHGate version once they are moderately decent, for $35 as I did with the MoonSwatch (after trying to genuinely get it at launch and more than eight times in more than four countries).

Scratches the itch and for $35 it’s a lovely watch, I must say:

Swatch and their hype machine can S. my you know what. I’m not falling for that again.

Swatch does not have a diver watch (i think)
so that's the angle
A "diver" from Swatch... Some say the pool in the first image means it will just be waterproof, otherwise they'd have used an ocean shot.

All I hope is that it's something in the Fifty-Fathoms line.
This article in GQ suggested there may be more than 1 model.

From the latest Swatch teaser, we know there will be five watches in this collection, each named after one of the world’s oceans. The Indian Ocean, The Atlantic Ocean, The Pacific Ocean will refer to modern Blancpain models and the more extreme oceans, The Arctic Ocean and The Antarctic Ocean, will refer to historical Blancpain models.

well Panerai did release the Due with the crownguards and 30m water resist 😅

Casio has proven that a decent diver can be made in resin

It's taken from this Monochrome article

Monochrome

In which it's written

we’ve decided to imagine what could be our own version of the Swatch x Blancpain collaboration, which could be named the Fifty-One Fathoms. Indeed, contrary to the Moonswatch which is powered by a quartz chronograph movement, the Swatch x Blancpain will most probably be a time-only or time-and-date watch. And that opens the door to a possible automatic movement… Something that Swatch has in stock with the Sistem51. Now you know why we’ve chosen Fifty-One Fathoms as a name.

Anyway, this is not the confirmed product, This Swatch x Blancpain article is based on our own Photoshop mock-ups; brands have provided nothing officially. These are predictions based on our imagination and expectations

Damn... I thought this was real...
Today is 05 September, they won't reveal the design until the very last minute.

Anyway, is confirmed that there will be 5 models, called:

Arctic Ocean
Pacific Ocean
Atlantic Ocean
Indian Ocean
Antarctic Ocean

In any case it looks like a risky move trying to replicate the success of the Omega x Swatch collaboration with a brand that barely has the same notoriety. They have to come up with something more than those basic mock-ups, why should anyone want to buy one of those with so many alternatives out there? Really curious about the price point, if they're going to stay below the 500€ mark it may fly, above it's difficult to justify a plastic case with Swatch's System 51 movement (that is, if it WILL be plastic and they WILL use the System 51).

You're right, it looks pretty basic and not as "attractive" first glance as the Moon. Still will sell stupid though won't it?

Depending on the price. And then, how many people know Blancpain as opposed to Omega?

I'm curious but not optimistic. The Mission to Mercury Moonswatch looked great but is basically a novelty.

For around 500 they could probably do something cool and durable, but I doubt it. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

Would love something fifty fathoms esque with an automatic in a material that won't fall apart. Obviously I'm not alone in that. Most curious about the vintage inspired ones.

I'm not sure they wan't to replicate the Omega x Swatch release. Most regard the Moonswatch debut as a complete clusterf*ck. The demand far outstripped supply - which, while generating press, is not usually desirable - aside from generating bad-will, the over-demand cannot actually be monetised.

The most money they can make is from selling every one they make. And I think they'll have no problems with the Blancpain collab.
