I ordered this piece from Ryan in mid December and was very happy to get it right after Christmas. The quality is very impressive and it is comfortable to wear. I'll post some pictures in the daylight. It's a gorgeous piece.
Those shorts are in either direct sunlight or bright light. The dial looks different depending on the lighting. In dim light, it looks pewter greyish and in sunlight, it looks more gold hued. I haven't inspected the piece side by side with a gen.
Noone will do a side by side review with a gen for this .... production of the gen was delayed . Introduced in January 2014 at SIHH but never came into production that year. Now at SIHH this year, AP showed the watch again and promissed it will be ready to order in summer ... (hear and read the difference :"ready to order".
So we will see if there will ever be a gen of it

I'm a Rep noob. Ordered my first 3 over the past 4 months and now I'm obsessed! I ordered this AP simply because I liked how it looked on the website.. After receiving it, I've had a difficult time finding gen pics online. This explains why! Kudos to the factory for beating the official release. For $700 it's a solid and stunning piece. If it looks like the gen.. bonus. If it doesn't.. then I still have a well built watch that gets compliments galore!

I got the black dial but looks like other people have purchased the white/grey dial on this thread? Does AP Gen have both colors?

Yes, for people with a smaller wrist.
More comfortable to wear instead of using the latest hole on the standard strap.
You linked to the older Ceramic model that came in all black. 2014 AP announced and showed the updated version with anthracite dial and silver Tachy ... this piece was released just to have a bigger difference with the FC version.
So you can get both gen / rep ... allthough the gen Anthracite Dial was yet only introduced (2nd time) at SIHH 2015 with possible purchase date starting August 2015.

Thanks for that explanation Dr. Theo! Does that mean the Gen version of the one that I purchased has already been released? I tried to find it online and can't find the model number. Do you happen to know the model or when it was released?

Yes, the one you purchased as been out for a while. It's no longer online since AP discontinued it and replaced with the Anthracite dial ceramic.
