I fear we will not see any upgraded grey dials in the near future ... so I just live with my "wannabegrey" Ceramic chrono.

I think (hope) we do, because the current version was repped before the gen was released. This year the gen appeared again at the SIHH and has replaced the "regular" 44mm ceramic version in the AP catalogue....

Wonderful pic ... only problem with the rep is; we do have already 2.5 versions:
- the very first release (V0.5) was a prototype that showed a nice grey color ... never made it into production though
- the second release (V1.0) was a darker grey, almost brown/black ... again the wrong color but it was released anyway
- the third release (V2.0) came under the radar, not much promotion but the dial color was updated to a better grey ... but still not close
This is the information I got so far and the maker claims his last model to be very close: "look, it´s grey! So no more updates here!"
Cross my finger as this is a wonderful watch and needs to be re-released with a GREY dial.

Wempe (Frankfurt) has a gen of this anthracite 44mm. I tried it on and it is a heart breaker and so much better than the rep. The gen "cannot be unseen" once you have it on your wrist.
After 3 weeks being held at customs ...... The duty paid and my Anthracite 44 arrived today, been v v v lucky .... Customs were clearly happy to get the duty ...
The watch is amazing , so much better than I was anticipating . The dial is glorious and shimmers different colours in different light conditions and IMO is only slightly darker than the Gen .... It is by far the prettiest 44 dial
It's an absolute beauty , a definite keeper and the 3126 plates just finish it off .... The strap is perhaps a little to thin and flexible but on the plus side it's very comfortable ...
I like it enough that i'll buy the Gen when my AD gets one !!
Also a huge thank you to Chazing Time who , the second the parcel was seized by customs promised that if it wasn't released it would be replaced and re sent immediately ..
Kens customer service was immediate and second to none ..... Luckily we worked together to get the package through

Nice andman. Pics? How did you get the package through? Most times it is a goner when it hits customs.

Not quite sure how I pulled it off but they wanted categoric proof of payment, which was obviously far greater than the declared value and a copy of my passport .... I supplied both
They then emailed me to say package was being released and there was tax and a fine to pay ... and presto, the package arrived this morning ....
Anyway ... this watch has really grabbed me ... been staring and admiring it on my wrist all day

It would be the icing on the cake and ironically, they can obviously do it....and do it well .... The brushing on the case is stunning and very close to Gen standard
