Not certain but I believe it's a VRF. It was out before ARF released although that's not necessarily proof.

BTW I won't be slamming my hour hand around like that. We have no idea how strong the jumping hour spring is in these A3186 movements. Even the gen 3186 movements have jumping hour springs prone to easy breaking.

Agreed. The gen has issues to. Besides, who travels past the dateline that needs this kind of adjustment? Maybe The Flash. :). thanks

Never held a gen gmt but should you be able to set the date backwards? I know all 28xx variations only set the date forward. Im guessing its because you can travel backwards through timezones? I think the abuse in that video would of broken most chs watches in the past so thats a good sign :)

You can set the date backward on a gen 3185 bro. It works just like that video shows. I can't speak for the 3186 but if I had one I would be reluctant to even try it. Although it should work the same way. I'm glad I have a 3185 in mine, I don't mind the slight wobble in the hour hand while jumping it. It's a more robust design IDK why they changed it, just get rid of the wobble?

Can’t wait for Rob’s review, but I am hoping he will have a favorable review for the VRF. VRF has my vote, so, fingers crossed.

Noob, although they are not using the A3186 movement yet and we don't know if the ARF/VRF A3186 will fit a Noob case.

A real 3185/86 is adjustable both directions. Rolex techs have said that they prefer you adjust it forward due to wearing issues. But it can be done forward.

I have owned a real 16710, 116170 and a 16700 that I have built. The 16700 behaves like a 3135. It has quickset and set GMT hand. So adjusting the date is easy. The 16710 had the 3185 and it worked by jumping hour hand. I really never had to mess with it or my 116710LN. The reason was I kept them both in winders. So for daylight saving I would click forward or back for one hour. Also lets say it was March and Feb had 28 days the max I would have to go forward was a 3 days. Or if the month had 30 days, go forward one day. When I went to Vegas and California with my 116710LN I did adjust the hand back 3 hours and kept the GMT hand in NY time. 98% of the time I had the GMT hand set to the 24 hr mark. I like using military time on paperwork so I would look down and my GMT hand was on the military time. Example if it was 2 PM the GMT had was on the 14. So I knew it was 1400 Hrs.

Unless we are pilots or traveling a lot that is what most people use the GMT hand for. If we are business men and travel we can adjust the GMT hand to local or home time zones. I never did that. I just jumped the hour hand back or forth the time zone difference.

This is why I love the 3175. It has a fixed GMT hand and fits a 3135 case. LOL. The GMTII which has a 3185/86 and prior had the 3085, all can do 3 time zones. The one set by the hour hand on the watch. The one set with the GMT hand independently and the one you can set with rotation of the GMT bezel. Now the GMT or some call GMT 1, the You can set only 2 time zones. One under the hour hand and one with the GMT bezel. The GMT had is set for 24 hours time and is fixed.

Thanks mate. I hope Noob will take the vr movement and put on their gmt, like they do with submariner

I love my gen one and I think due to lots of traveling, I am one of the rare guys using and setting regularly two time zones. The third one is a bit too much IMO.

I would love to do a review with an ARF or VRF, compared to my gen. So if someone in Europe gets one and would it borrow me, I could do a comparison.

Nearer than you think
So guys, why would one go for the VR over the ARF? If you change the dw on the arf, which should be a straight swap with gen, then you have a very nice insert and good lugs and crystal,

The problem with the vr should be the lugs, and the very badly sanded top rehaut finish.

what to do???

Nothing announced yet but they have the bracelets and movements now, so all that is missing is to paint the GMT hand in a different colour and manufacture the inserts, so I don't see why they wouldn't take a stab at them

Could you please check then if the clone movement 3186 will fit in the actual noob 116710 case?

I have the GEN 3186 with a custom movement holder installed but will sell it when the rep movements fits & also gen hands on it.

Since I heard / read that both ARF and VRF cases aren’t so good (rehaut) etc
