Pen was $6 and shippping to EU was $38 :(
Iv seen the same pen, with same EAN
but English text on it instead of Japanese

Think it’s the same color/product or is the one with Japanese text on it special ?

thanks :)

Available on Amazon also (atleast in US) with next day prime shipping.

Thinking on buying this rep!
Great thread and read, took me almost a week to finally reach the last page.

So what I plan on doing is:
ARF base
VR3185
Gen dw or VR dw
xprof xtal or gen xtal

Anyone know what ‘eventual’ gen part is needed on the VR3185 movement to make it more reliable and improve its longevity? Is it the 3185-660 module for jumping hours?

This is why dw and hour hands dont work.
Arf just make a improvise in the plate.
The gear under moves for up and down and i have sure that factory know that.

I think they should replace this parts for clients that have this problem. Its simple swap, i can make a video how to fix if they agree with that.

Just for reference: I serviced my SH movement and added a gen. jumping hour hand module, DW seating plate, autowind movement, and intermediate date corrector. I think that this movement is superior to the VR, which I also have. Yes, I spent some money, but This is the movement that would be in this watch, not a 3185.

I put a small ring above the gear (something like the pics). Looks good and work properly now.

I will test the performace this week.

“Make it more reliable” and “improve Longevity” are subjective terms, everyone has their own interpretation. While you may get away with the jumping hour module, In my opinion following are must as well:

- Autowind module (or at least gen reversing wheels) and ratchet wheel plus barrel/mainspring
- Gen hands pinion if you are planning to use ARF hands on the VR3185. Members have reports issues with how the ARF hands go on the VR
- Gen seconds, minute and hour wheel

That's a good solution, I was going to suggest it. Other movements have this issue with gears moving up out place, factories aren't going to provide any help.

The 2824 CHS timebomb is aided greatly by a similar custom mod, a support arm to keep the Intermediate date wheel from popping up and dislodging from the hour wheel. Native 2836/24's have a ledge that covers the IDW. It was overlooked in the design of the 2824 CHS timebomb.

So if one would have the following mods already done, what would be the next step for most bang for the buck mods ?

Already done:
VRF 3186 Movement
Gen DW

Future mods:
Waterproofing
Babyoil clasp + bracelet
Cryatal, dial, hands, bezel ?

thanks :)
