Yes it's possible. Look up thrillofhunt to purchase the movement. You will also need gen or aftermarket gen-spec or ARF/VRF/GMF 3185/6 hands. None of your ETA hands will be reusable. You will also need to have a custom movement holder made. Your dial will also need to have feet clipped and new feet glued or soldered on. By the time you pay for all that plus labor costs to do the transplant, you could buy a true clone 3185/6 watch.

How mucb would this job cost, total? Waiting on my wweatch, and I aim considering doing this, but just hesitatnt because mods usually cost and arm and a aleg.

Note: apolgoies for fucked upt yping. I literally can barely see anything, and my sister isnt' around to trpe my stuff out for me. Literalyl typing as if my eyes are closed lol.

Hey chaps,

I've recently contracted a condition in my eyes (bacterial conjunctivitis) and it has really compromised my eyesight, and my doctor says it should continue to affect my eyesight for around a week more. I'm expecting my QC images for this watch to arrive right away (next few days, hopefully), and I will need some help verifying them. Is anyone willing to help me out over PM?

Note: for anyone wondering why I can make this post but I can't see. First, I have my younger sister typing for me. Second, even as my eyesight improves over the next days, it will still be extremely difficult to see fine details.

Thanks to anyone willing to help! My sister, while able to type this out for me, would not be a great QC'er, so any help would be very appreciated.
Not sure if anyone has volunteered but let me know how I can help :)

One member has vounteered but, hey, the more themerrier! Hopefuly, I get hte QC pics soon, and I can even send them to both of you. Maybe you'll see something that Dissemination didn;t, U reakky do appreciate the help.

This is really hard for me, especilaly because I have final exams this week and have had to defer everything. I will never take my eyesight—or health, gernarally—forgranted EVER AGAIN. The autonomy tthat coes with being healthy is—literally—priceless.

This was in response to someone swapping their traditional CHS time bomb movement to these newer, stabler movements.

if you are hesitant about doing mods, I wouldn't worry about swapping out for the new VR GMT movement. Just use the SH GMT movement in your ARF and if it ever does break, then you can fix it with Gen parts. Or at that point you can swap out for a VR movement, which is generally considered to be more stable, but even with that movement you may have to use gen parts sooner or later.

You won't have to change the hands you have though, as they are gen-spec.

I swapped a VR into my Arf the day I bought it. Better datewheel font too on the VR. The SH3186 was working perfectly but I had the spare movement so did it. Very straightforward swap plus I fitted a gen crystal too. That took longer than the movement swap actually.

Thanks buddy. I think these are one of the best made reps out there. Fit and finish is very impressive.

I've just purchased one of these from jtime, waiting on qc pics, very excited to get my hands on it, first rep purchase in probably 8 years.

To be honest, i didn't even realise reps 'run so deep', my first rep purchase (gmt ii coke no idea what factory) was a none researched impulse buy after i saw a listing for it on some deepweb marketplace, so yeah, very excited to get my hands on this one.

Given, im still very fresh to the deeper side of rep's is there anything i should be looking out for on the ARF? Any steps you recommend i take once i get the watch, ie, get the movement looked at or anything? Im by no means planning on doing a franken build with this, it will no doubt be used as it comes im just wondering if there are any things the more experienced heads recommend i do or keep an eye out for?

... i already feel like this will become an expensive hobby!

Thanks for any advice
