How are the dials on the ARF’s? I’ve heard in most ARF franken projects, people switching them out for a VRF dial (or a gen obviously).

The concern some people have is ARF dial hour markers are a bit too white. But in general the overall look quality, fit and finish is very good. I am OK with the dial and hands are probably the best in market. The issues with ARF LN is the darewheel font is a bit bold... some samples are better than other but still... the main issue is the movement. The jewel on the datewheel tends to break, which on gen and VRF is a metal pin. I had a movement with broken jewel and was able fix it with a pin. However changing the ARF GMT movement to VRF is the best move, specially if you find one with a decent datewheel.

So if you get a ARF batman be prepared to change the movement to VRF. The dial is not the main concern.

Sure, thanks for the input :)

Before embarking on a GMT franken, I’m going to see how the ZZF GMT’s turn out, since they did such a good job on the subs and ostensibly negate a movement change.

ARF is on backorder (at least my order is). If ZZF is anything like Noob then end of year will be end of 2021. I'll keep waiting for ARF until ZZF pulls a rabbit out of their...uhh...hat

LetMeHearItNow thanks mate.

I am have some spare VR3135 and VR3185 with service as option as well. I would avoid the VR3186 as the gen is a design mess as well. To solve your VR3186 you need to charge to gen parts for some of the watch.

Thanks all

Ohh crap there is a difference between the 3185 and the 3186.... how did I miss that. What’s the difference?

I'm curious as well, I thought there was only a vr3185, that just happened to be engraved 3186 for show?

In comparison with the Noob insert at least there is no huge speed bump

I have a question on this as well. My understanding about the speed bumps are that the transition between the blue and black shows a visible line across the number (6, 18).
Is this correct or is there still something im not understanding.
