ARF 16610 LV Submariner 904L Kermit photo review

Got my QC though. Date a little fat but not as bad as some. Will most like drop the VR in at some point which will take care of that. The 2 on the bezel doesn’t have the hangman noose on this batch and it looks like the crown stamp on the clasp is centred again although I can’t be sure from the angle. (Already given the green light)

Looking better and better. They went back to the JF bezel insert with correct “20”. Also looks like they reshaped the crown guard tips? Please share more photos when you receive it. Thanks

The coronet on the clasp does look to be centered unlike the last batch. Which for me was tough to look at every time I turned my wrist.

Clasp crown still looks a bit skewed to the right like on my watch, try to ignore the sticker and you'll see. However it isn't really noticeable in person, unless you know about it and stare closely.

Good news on the bezel insert, any idea how it can be ordered separately? I want to swap my v1 ARF insert now!

Maybe they will use VR’s in the feature but I doubt that they change there trade mark “ BOLT DW FONT” LOL!

wristonfire123 Interesting. The bezel is a lot different from last batch. The white lines from 12 to 3 on the bezel look like they run all the way to the inside diameter. The lines from 9 to 12 also have that same run length.

I know, there are some gens where the lines get pretty close to the inside of the bezel and other that you can see a distinct gap. I can’t quite tell from the photos and the angle is not right in any of them though. I’ll check it properly once it arrives.

To be fair, the ARF date fonts are not wrong. The thicker fonts were used throughout the 2000s. There were variances on the date as there were several bezel inserts. Some say there even variances between regions at times. Here’s some gens pre-rehaut :

Trustytime watch parts service can source the correct font insert separately, he quoted me $128 shipped to USA... thats about 25% of the watch's price...

Better get the full watch, swap bezels and sell the old one at this point, no?

prv654 Your Clark insert colour reminds me of this old gen colour insert I had, but your colour is a bit more attractive to me by comparison. I really love the look of people’s ARF and JF insert colours as they are too.

Yes the color is darker and more olive /grass like than the stock one which matches the later 16610LV inserts. The clark insert is less shiny and more vintage looking overall, I think it tries to match the "B3" insert. The finishing is not as good as the stock ARF in my opinion and the font is not as sharp.

The pearl is different for sure, and has green lume (weak lume compared to ARF). At least the lume is not blue as on the 116610.

Hi everyone,

here an update so far on my Kermit.
I highly recommend anyone to let an experienced specialist satin and repolish the bracelet and case.
this really adds so much value IMO..
the 904L have much more brighter luster like the gen,and especially the grain is more refined and all sharp edges are gone and makes it wear just like the gen.

Here some pictures :

the next and final step for this build will be to order ZZF 116610 dial and gen 116610 maxi hands and let them relume with the correct 16610 green super luminova.

And then i think I have done all what can be done

and I may go for an LN version as-well in the near future..

I'm taking my ARF to the watchsmith to have the crystal sit higher, I got a modded BK version with a lowered crystal which means the date window looks too small...
You need a relatively high crystal if you want proper date size on these

no it’s a gen xtal non AR with LEC.
(which is period correct for the non engraved rehout version)
