It is normal, 4801 has the grainy sound when manual wind.

I suppose it is for different needs. 26240 for those who enjoy latest eye candy on movement and flyback chrono.
26331 is for slimmer case of 11mm , but I do expect they launch a 38mm case size with 11mm thickness for small wrist & lady.

Try VPN ?
Sadly, already have - does the chrono work properlly by anychance?

China local pricing around 3200 to 3400 cny depending on the dealer markup

Trusted dealer you can expect to add another 15 to 30 percent
I was quoted 3000CNY from Mark at FicoTime for the panda dial. It’s cheap enough I’m just gonna pull the trigger and snag one. Was told 8-15 days for QC.

I don’t think 38mm is lady size. It’s just that AP and Omega fully commited to the over size trend of the mid 2000s and now they are caught off guard when everything normalized to 38 to 40mm. They now have to sell these 41mm+ calibers somewhere ? Easy call 38mm unisex. (AP doesn’t call their prized 39mm jumbo model as a unisex. ) It’s just that they need customers for 40mm+

Rolex and Patek never really committed. Took longer to see the trends. Thats why the bulk of their models fall under 40mm. Tudor is sticking smaller for new releases. It’s timeless vs. trends.

Not at all, 38mm is perfect sized and comparable to a Daytona (had mine side by side with a 26715 I tried on at AP)

Many men have it, but have seen women in 38mm (albeit, the OR version) but honestly I have seen women wearing Daytona too.

I feel it should be made, but my opinion means nothing. I do notice that the chinese factories tend to go with what would sell better vs what a guy like me wants lol

Unfortunately from what I heard, the 4801 won’t be able to be used for a cnc 38mm build… ofcourse it might not be true just saying what I heard

That is OK, we are not even talking about CNC builds here. This thread is saying that APW factory is using 4801 for a 26331, which might mean it can fit a 26315 too. If you were doing a CNC build, you can get a gen 1185 movement for that, but its also going to cost 10x what APW would charge if they are actually making a 26315

Yes exactly I would love for the 26315 to be made from the factory, unfortunately it is not clear how long it will take but the 26315 is the 38mm as far as I know and that was what I meant that the movement might not fit the 38mm version so that the factory can make it… really hoping they will make it and soon, grail watch here 😁

If the 4801 fits inside a 38mm CNC build it will also be mass produced. I just want it to fit in the case size. I have heard that AP 41 wears like a 43. So their 38 isn’t actually a 38.

Can someone chime in? I need hope for a 38mm!

To me this watch has two flaws that I care enough to not pull the trigger:

- Slow date change. Date starts changing around 10pm and completes the move at 12pm. That’s around two hours for “awkward time” if you are going out at night with that watch

- Misaligned pinion positions as mentioned above

Besides the misleading reddit post regarding the 38mm variant i don’t see too many reasons why a 30.5mm in diameter and 6.5mm in height movement shouldnt fit inside a 38mm ø case.

What could get in the way are the bezel screws and clearance for the seals. But as you can see there is quite some tolerance for the movement holder.

I read somewhere in this thread that the date mod is already available for an instant change
