Just pulled the trigger and pre-ordered with Puretime. Went for the black dial but will try and source a gen dial. Maybe AMF can help?
My opinion (and remember its only an opinion) is that if you want a very awesome looking AP Royal Oak on your wrist, which functions like the gen (date change wise), get the 15500 clone, get the gen dial installed (or a ZF dial), get the watch refinished, and you have a watch which can pass off as a gen on the streets. I am not saying anyone should buy this and pass it on as a gen for whatever purpose, but it can be passed off as a gen visually once certain things are done for this 15500 with clone movement, and minor things at that.
This would sell a shit ton of watches for sure.Do you think from the factories this could be another step on the route of cloning APRO chrono movements?
If you’re after a gen dial get one now, as prices are rising, partly because the clone movement 15500 watches are released and guys are buying the dials to franken their watches.
From what I know personally at least 6 were sold in the last week alone from a single vendor.
The quick date change has been desactivated on 15202 ZF. I thought there was a problem but ZF wanted to make it like gen

Thanks for the solid opinion. How would you say this APSF compares to the ZF 15400 with the 3120 clone movement (not withstanding the date function)?
Wasn't the ZF 15400 with the 3120 almost spot on a a rep when the V2 was released?
Excuse my ignorance with this, I've ignored AP until recently. Thanks in advance.
I would not call the clone 15400 “spot on”. The caliber plates are poorly finished compared with the gen, hands are off, dials are inaccurate and overall finish is relatively poor.
I know guys who frankened the 15400 with gen parts and think that they have a 1:1 watch and I would say that visually, this is possible only minimally with a gen dial, hands and movement (complete with dw and rotor) but not without.
Thanks mate, one final opinion from you please. Would you say this APSF 15500 is closer OOTB than the ZF 15400 3120?
Sorry to put you in the spot, but I was about to put money down on the ZF 15400 tool this thread started.
Thanks again.
I have replied this earlier actually and the answer is yes the APSF 15500 beats the zf15400 overall for me.
Any updates on this? QC’s etc
Some QC pics posted by my trusted dealer, waiting for it's
arrival

The rose gold models disappeared from Puretimes website. Are they sold out already?
