I have never owned it, so I can only go by the pictures. From what I can see its a nice looking rep f the 15300, but the crappy rotor ruins it for me. This rep is on a different level. BP is great at making an accurate rep and capturing the details. The BP SD, Big Pilot, 36mm DJ, 16610 sub and sub-c are all good looking reps and sooooo close to being super reps. They are just very inconsistent in terms of QC and their build quality is several notches below noobs. I knew that when I bought this watch. The components are all there and are good quality--much better than their CrPO. Since this is a higher end rep, they didn't go cheap on the bracelet like they do on their subs and the SD. You get good bones. As it turns out, I didn't even get a refurbished eta movement (which is standard for BP). I guess since this watch as an exhibition caseback and, unlike the PO, it doesn't have faux bridges to hide the rust and dirt behind, the actually used a good movement. That said, I still had fingerprints on the inside of the crystal and the watch was dirty, inside and out. Unless you are willing to open, dismantle and clean the components, then put it back together the right way, you may be u happy with this version. Unless it has already been updated, you also have to polish or live with the brushed rehaut which is wrong fir this watch. If your willing to do a little work, it's a great watch and a good value in my eyes --even at $380. It looks and feels like an expensive watch--that's the most important quality in a rep in my eyes. If you are willing to work on the watch, you might want to wait and check out angus' version.

Thanks, so I will try to wait.... if I can :D:

Btw is there a post in here with the actual best reps ?

I mean as you've said the Diver is a better rep (in absolute) than the 15400 because of the closed back etc... You mentionned the Big Pilot, Expl.2, ... on which everybody seems to agree that they are exceptionnal reps.

Is there this kind of dream rep collection on the forum ?

Of course all subjective consideration excluded. just the best reps :)

I know it is constantly evolving (like for the Diver v3.5,v4,v4.1 !) but should be an interesting thread :)

Sorry if this already exists but the forum is so vast !

There are a decent number of amazing super reps, but most if us are constantly changing our collection to fund new watches.

Really enjoyed your review of the 15400. On the basis of this and others I ordered one from Joshua. It's in the mail, should be here soon. Thanks for making this an easy decision!

It's absolutely great! I'm so happy with it. I had to open it up and remove dust from the dial (my understanding is the BP factory is sometimes sloppy in assembly) but otherwise it works great, and looks phenomenal. Got some cape cod polishing pads on the way for the rehaut.

The only issue I'm having is the same hair-trigger clasp deployment problem that Jamztio encountered (see http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/my-first-royal-151079) I'm newb, so I was hoping you might have some advice on how I might mitigate this issue... easy home fix is preferable as I really love the watch.

As promised, I took some video this morning of the BP AP 15400 and put the watch side by side with the AP Diver V3.5 for comparison. I was standing behind my car trying to shoot with my GS3, so I apologize for any choppiness in the video. It was the best I could do in a short time.

Thanks set, great review and great comparison of size next to diver, been looking for something like this!

BP quality control is always spotty. My clasp was perfect OTB. Maybe I got lucky?? I am not sure what the fix is, but I would guess it's the springs. You should ask you TD to send a new clasp.

I agree!!!! We should have a Super Rep list made.. I know that the pam 111 buy noob makes the list, not sure if the AP diver V4.1 makes the list or not.. but members with more experience could come up with a list....

few days before puretime 15400 release... :)

They are making two versions from what Ive read.. one which is on the website right now and one with the Miyota movement which should be cheaper and more reliable based on what the members said... I think it is the same movement citizen uses...
Ive read on repgeek and here that puretime will be releasing the Miyota in 6 months... and I remember seeing a post on a comparison between the gen, BP and Angus versions of the 15400..

So which version is coming out in a few days ? I hope its the Miyota with all the improvements.

A big part of the fun of these forums is the research and education that experienced members share with everyone. I see a thread listing the Super Reps as a lazy mans thread.

Yes time is precious, if you are that person who says I want a super rep thread so I don't waste time... Well I would say..make a monetary donation to enjoy the convenience. After all you prolly don't care about the members of forums IMO.

Just sayin'.

It's the one on Angus web site ATM but with a few updates, the other that he's working on is still months away, personally think $400+ is a bit overpriced for the one due in a few days for a Asian movement.

Especially when the BP looks pretty good in the video...
