What do you think about the 39MM SS black at Ryan's ? Is it as good as this one as rep ?
I have never owned it, so I can only go by the pictures. From what I can see its a nice looking rep f the 15300, but the crappy rotor ruins it for me. This rep is on a different level. BP is great at making an accurate rep and capturing the details. The BP SD, Big Pilot, 36mm DJ, 16610 sub and sub-c are all good looking reps and sooooo close to being super reps. They are just very inconsistent in terms of QC and their build quality is several notches below noobs. I knew that when I bought this watch. The components are all there and are good quality--much better than their CrPO. Since this is a higher end rep, they didn't go cheap on the bracelet like they do on their subs and the SD. You get good bones. As it turns out, I didn't even get a refurbished eta movement (which is standard for BP). I guess since this watch as an exhibition caseback and, unlike the PO, it doesn't have faux bridges to hide the rust and dirt behind, the actually used a good movement. That said, I still had fingerprints on the inside of the crystal and the watch was dirty, inside and out. Unless you are willing to open, dismantle and clean the components, then put it back together the right way, you may be u happy with this version. Unless it has already been updated, you also have to polish or live with the brushed rehaut which is wrong fir this watch. If your willing to do a little work, it's a great watch and a good value in my eyes --even at $380. It looks and feels like an expensive watch--that's the most important quality in a rep in my eyes. If you are willing to work on the watch, you might want to wait and check out angus' version.
