Another Moonswatch metal case project

I saw this strap on AliX and went 'wow I know what I want to pair that with'. Artsy hippie I know, flower power and all that



I'm curious if any of you other guys are feeling like me with the Moonphases or Snoopies? I'm getting tired of looking at my Moonphase and Snoopy builds and never being able to see the moon or Snoopy, it seems like whenever I look they are almost always obscured. So I did the 2 o'clock subdial freeze on this one.
Any of you done that also?

Nice trick! I didn’t freeze mine, but I did readjust the hands so they’re most visible at noon rather than midnight (basically pushing it 12 hours forward)

I thought they were fully visible at both 12am and 12pm, is that not correct?

Any tips for reattaching the subdial? I’ve got a Snoopy with a junked movement I need to replace but haven’t gotten around to it yet, and I’m figuring it’ll be difficult to align the center of the moonphase dial with the pinion

Ope, you’re right - I meant I advanced it six hours.

Any tips for reattaching the subdial? I’ve got a Snoopy with a junked movement I need to replace but haven’t gotten around to it yet, and I’m figuring it’ll be difficult to align the center of the moonphase dial with the pinion

I work at what is basically a breakfast table in the breakfast nook of my house, so what is the common table height, 30 inches? (In freedom units of course!)
I have the movement on one of those round movement pads which is on the blue silicone work mat.
Then I get out of my chair and sit on a little plastic kiddie counter helper stepstool so my eyeball height is exactly level with the movement, probably about 32 inches off the floor.
I use a “rodico stick” just like one does with placing hands, I just mash it on the top of the moon dial and lower it right down on that tiny tiny pinion with my 4X magnifiers on. And I hold it down with a plastic tipped hand tool to unstick the rodico and then gently press onto the pinion.
How’s that for a long winded too much detail answer?

Okay the genuine movement fits so well and looks so good. Pusher engagement is amazing. This thing was made to be broken up with a hacksaw and side cutters, just like I did just now.
Not sure I keep that black rehaut ring though... Still deciding while I wait for the stems to come in!
