ALF - You nailed it with this post. It really has become comical how many professed experts on on the boards these days that do nothing but scrutinize one dimensional pictures that have been magnified 10x to find "Flaws" Most of which can not be detected if you put the watch side by side with a Gen, let alone if the watch was on your wrist.
In large part due to your reviews and honesty about the Noob Prototype I ordered one from Ryan this morning. I also have some BP hands and a BP insert coming. I have been successful in grinding ceramic inserts to fit before and if after comapring the two inserts side by side the work in getting the BP insert to fit is worth it, I will get it in there. Hahaha
On a side note there seems to be a huge deal being made by the "Google image jockeys" from nano measurements that in all truthfulness, without a 10x loupe, no one would notice, yet they miss the bigger picture of the overall look and feel of the piece that can not be seen in pictures.
One of the main reasons I chose the Noob Protoype over the BP maker sub is the crappy a$$ crown that seems to come on all BP Rollies. The BP crowns for the most part always come with rounded edges on the crown teeth and a rough duller finish between the teeth. The Noob crowns have a mirror Gen like machined smooth finish between the teeth and the sharp crisp edge on the knurling just like you find on a Gen crown. To each his own I guess, but I find it comical that people are obsessing over micro measurements that 99.9% of people will never detect, yet have a cr@ppy crown on their watch that screams "Fake"
And before someone goes and posts how they would just put a Gen crown on their watch and be done with it, we are talkng about the new bigger case and crown, not the older smaller case and smaller crown. If you can source a Gen crown for the new case, I'd like to know where...
Bottom line is that for me, after having had quite a few watches from both makers, the fit, feel and finish of the noob makers watches, that is not detectible by one dimensional pictures on a flat computer screen, gives the Noob Sub the edge...
