Hey Everyone,

Long time lurker-first post. I wasn’t able to find any info in the search on this question…

Im building a 79090 with gen Tudor 2824-2 movement. Im debating using a Viet case or JKF as a base. I plan on reshaping either way.

Can anyone confirm the correct Raffles case back would fit a JKF case?

Thanks!

I bought a raffles case back with similar intentions. It did not fit any of the other cases I had. I was told the raffles case back will only fit the raffles case.

If you are using a 2824 you need a Vietnam case, the JKF takes a 2836 and has an incorrect crown height.

I bought a 16610 case back from Raffles a few months ago to put on a gen mid case, and the back was not even close to fitting. I don’t think any of their cases are worth using.

Hi man!

Great choice going with the 79090.

There's quite a few threads here of people doing a similar build, a lot of information to absorb already there.

Here's a few links:

Vietnam case hands down.

JKF cases don't do the justice: they are typically the same case set which is shared with their 5513/1680 models. The tudor caseback has different design to 5513/ 1680, in which JKF ignores. Their lugs are also fat and need reshaping

Rafflesdial sub cases are far from gen spec. E.g., their rehaut opening is wider than gen, causing gen-spec and nice dials like vietnam dials to fall through the rehaut.

I've asked this on a couple of Milk threads and one response did seem to allude to the answer being 'yes' but couldn't be certain.

Best case for the money, as far as I can tell and I'd like one without the engraving.

Is it relume? Here is my bivintage dial, yours is more white than brown, love your color
They have different styles of lume available. Just ask when ordering and they'll sort you out 😎. Which movement is in yours? Nice to see that serif font date wheel!
