The 43.5mm PO has a different bezel construction from Gen and the VSF 39.5mm release.

Where did you get the info and is it the same construction as the noob? Or the early Steinhart ceramic?

Got my QC pics today, watch looks great
Still have doubts on the bezel but hopeful. Anyone know if this is a 2824 or an actual 8800 clone?

It must be the same as the VSF 2018 SMP, hence a decorated Eta clone, same kind of accurate quickdate set instead of jumping hour hand.

Might share them after approve?

Li‘s aren’t the best in terms of lighting imo which someone else posted earlier in this thread..

Just got mine! Finally a PO that fits my tiny 6" wrist. I had the VSF8500 42mm version prior to this so I can do a quick comparison. But first, this post will be useless without pictures: Close up of the dial:

Close ups of the movement:

Close ups of the dial:

The wonderful adjustable clasp:

Quick wrist shot on my 6" wrist:

Comparison of 39.5mm vs 42mm:

Interesting note: the 39.5mm clasp is larger than the 42mm clasp:

Closer up on the clasp:

And the sides:

And a lume shot:

Legibility of the 42mm is definitely better than the glossy dial of the 39.5mm.
Also, I prefer the VSF8500 movement over the A2824 at the moment. The VSF8500, I've fully disassembled and serviced, the A2824/A8800 is freshly dry from the dealer.
Lume of the 42mm seems to be better than the 39.5mm.

But the 39.5mm's bracelet and clasp are a much better fit for me than the 42mm, especially since the 42mm's endlinks cause the bracelet to stick out. The adjustable clasp is also a super welcome bonus for that quick on-the-fly adjustment. So comfort-wise, hands down the 39.5.

Cheers!

Just got mine today’s too, pretty nice. Couple things I notice compared to gen but fit and finish is better than expected, especially the hands and markers.

VSF is close to nail the bezel inserts on these PO. Guess the only thing that is lacking is the fact that under some different lightings, the bezel numbers fade away. I suppose that under a similar light, they must be pretty much the same.

Honestly, the bezel is a solid effort but the gen numbers never wash out, it’s very clear that they are a different material. Honestly, how could they really replicate the liquidmetal process? It’s pretty incredible. The orange markings seem a little more dull than the gen but I haven’t gazed at it for some time so maybe just me. The rest is pretty f-$&ing nice. The markers hands and ceramic dial are really something.

NICE PICTURE! And nice watch ;-)
I was waiting for the VSF to release the 39.5 mm.
After few days of wearing, what is your opinion? Is it worth buying it according to you? Strong points? Weak points?
Thanks!

Nice pictures, thank you very much. Pushing me to pull the trigger. I am waiting a AT at the moment, but after that this is the first in line. Would be nice to see a 1 to 1 comparison with gen.

From your words, I have the impression that it is a very good watch, but not up to the level of being a NWBIG as his 42 and 45 brothers? Is it correct?

Pictures please ;-)

Yes you are correct. I’ve been wearing it since I got it. Vsf has really nailed everything but that bezel. To me it’s not even close, it’s completely different. There’s no laser engraving at all and I’m most light the numerals are washed out. The color is also not nearly as black as the gen. I posted several pictures of my gen earlier in this thread. In bright light it looks pretty good but in dim It’s stands out. I haven’t held the 43.5 but it looks like it’s laser engraved and then filled with silver paint instead of actual metal. That’s looks closer than this to me anyway.
