Rolex is the king of marketing. Nobody have a picture from 116622 Noob new (904L) version with platinum dial?
thank you...
There pal. Thought I had posted this however I did not specified which version it is.

Noob 116622 904L, latest version

Edit: pics doesn’t give justice. It does somewhat sparkle and it’s pretty. However I have a gen 16622 and the sparkle is nowhere close (obviously) but I heard 116622 platinum dials do sparkle less than old 16622’s.

Edit 2: I added different light pics. BTW this is one of those dials that needs to be seen in person.

Thank you bro. Yes, 116622 is sparkle less than 16622.

No bezel mod on yours?

Marco1937 how did you like the 116655? worth it?

I sold it because the plating was starting to stain inside the closure and under the lugs. Noob YM plating is not good bro. I have 10 reps gold plated and they are perfect after 2 years ;-)

do you think the ARF version of this has better plating?
would love to give it a try, but doesn’t make sense if plating fades instantly

Spots where your skin is in contact with the plating, will make it fade sooner or later. Especially in summer.

What you can do is apply a piece of screen protector in those particular spots. I’ve seen that done by many members, and I think it’s the best and only way to preserve it (besides replating)

It actually looks like 904 is softer than 316

Nice post Dave, seen most of that before. The thing is the Chinese try to make everything at absolute minimum cost, to an astonishing extent. So I'm very skeptical that their version of 904L meets world standards and is likely to be wildly variable depending on origin source. I'd put money on it that the Chinese don't pay any more for their "904L" than they do for 316L. And we get charged an extra $100 or more.

Additionally I never get my reps wet, not even a splash from hand washing so any minimal extra corrosion resistance is not a useful benefit to me. I'd choose extra hardness any day. And I don't need better polishing characteristics. Mirror finish to the eye 316L is still good enough for me, and most other watch manufacturers.

.

Most reps don’t come in both 904 and 316 models. The Noob YM did transition to 904 and got a price increase. Is it only because of 904L - no, it’s also to do with Noob’s recent overall price gouging across all models. Having purchased 2 904 versions - the dial quality, feel of bracelet, SELs have improved but still doesn’t justify the price increase completely.

Also, keep in mind - we are a miniscule proportion of Noob’s customers. It’s mainly for mainland China customers who are Rolex crazy. They need every aspect of the watch to look and feel like gen (even though they have never held a 316 or 904 in hand side by side and have no idea of the alloy proportions). All the Chinese advertisements list 904L on the main page, it was for Noob to get this strategically correct ;)

Marco1937 - Noob 904L came out around Sep 2019. I am pretty sure all the 316L is out of stock now.

Trusty is running sale (not sure if still available) on the 316 2824 models. I do see the platinum model listed.

Great find bro. That's a 316L steal for sure. I paid $358 for my 2824.

BTW if anyone is even remotely interested in a no date Sub, the Noob V8 at that price is a must have. Thinking about grabbing another one for my brother-in-law. Fantastic piece.

I analyzed 2 dials 116622 platinum (Noob 316L and Noob 904L) having the gen. In the photos I can say that the 316L version dial seems to be more similar to the gen. The 904L dial is more like the 5 digit 16622, slightly darker and more grainy.

Agree with that assessment bro. Having been around the 316L dial for 2 years, i would swap to the 904L dial in a heartbeat. Gen-like or not, the extra sparkles of the 5 digit and the 904L are more appealing IMO. YMMV.

If I had wanted a plain smooth dial I would have bought the white one.
