No it’s not the target area. Just a snapshot of the link inside the machine. That plate where the crosshairs are is aluminum. The chemical composition of picture 3 would not be anywhere near that if it was aluminum that was shot on the machine.

This is such BS!!! How do we even know that MikeMeezy77 is independent? He could be a Puretime spy!!!!?! Hoax!!!!!

Also, 9/11 was a US conspiracy and Coronavirus just a global power grab.

I wonder what happens next. Will we see £100 reductions in second hand ZZF prices on M2M?

Lol dude I can assure you I’m not a “spy” or this is a fake analysis. I don’t know what to tell you. KJ2020 knows me and can probably vouch for me. I’m just a guy that loves submariners but can’t afford a gen lol

I'm kidding!!!! I was mocking those that doubted Puretime (I thought my conspiracy theory sentence might have hinted at my sarcasm). I wouldn't trust KJ anyway btw, dodgiest guy on the forum!

Mikey,

Thanks for doing the test. To satisfy my curiosity (and likely other fellow members) could you run the test on other parts of the watch including the case and clasp?

Part of me wonders if the entire watch is 316 steel. Or could there be other parts of that are 904 steel

And this is the V2S version?

I will do my best to try and sneak it in this week if possible. I’d hate to take the movement out as I am new to this and am acquiring tools week by week. (No movement holder yet)
Could someone point me in the right direction on A2836 troubleshooting? I’m stuck with a seconds hand that won’t continue to oscillate.

If you know KJ, ask him; his knowledge is awesome (for a forum loser).

He has been walking me through some stuff I was curious about. Awaiting a response from him. Today hasn't been my day I need to be more patient. I'm thinking of selling my ZZF Hulk now hmmm

I was under the impression that 904L steel was better because it was harder. Since I like to wear my REPS as beaters, swim with them, etc. I always have chosen the 904L steel and sapphire crystal. It makes me feel better every time I smack my wrist into a doorknob!. For me, this is much more important than the detail on the bottom edge of the Rehaut!

Because of the recent posts, I have done some reading and have come across the fact that 316L steel actually has a harder Rockwell Score and is more scratch-resistant, but less resistant to corrosion from acid.

Can anyone comment more about the different steel? Or if there is a post on the forum about it, a link would be fine (did a search, came up dry.)

Kudos to the forum for having guys with scanning electron microscopes! Makes the Gen Rolex forum look like a bunch of pikers (every post: incoming! Can't Wait! Had to suck up to the AD!).

316L is arguably better because it is slightly harder and less prone to physical wear, and 316L also has more than enough corrosion resistance, I mean look at all of the vintage 316L watches man, are they corroding? nope and are any of us really expecting our reps to last 50+ years? I mean come on

316L is cheaper and arguably better for watch production, Rolex really just uses 904L to differentiate themselves from other watches and make it seem like it's better.

imo rolex use 904L for marketing and cosmetic property (whiter than 316L) the rest is BS

This is important though, some watches with 316 look a little yellow that I've seen. Maybe it was something worse than 316 though...
