I just took some pics too (albeit I am moving on from this piece), and figured I would post it in close proximity to yours so that they could be used as reference as well. Just an amazing piece.

Great review as always I enjoyed it.

A question about your CF and PP straps.. are they looking as glossy as at the beginning or as time goes by they start to get a matt finish?

The straps normally loose the shine slowly.. in some parts more than others.. however I noticed that the PP gen strap is losing less shine than the CF ones that I bought.. again I take good care of them and wipe them down after every use.. but still over the years the shine is not like how I recieved them.

obviously it will lose shine, since it is Leather...

you have to "skin care" for them btw, lol

Skin care cream give u semi gloss after losing shine , I have more than 20 pair shoes crocodile all losing mirror glossy.

but for a GEN Patek- Strap, it really cost ALOT btw.

it is just me but I do not feel GEN Patek strap really THAT Different from TOP-QUALITY Leather handcraft.... Bracelet obviously, but not the strap. And sometimes the colour/design it quite boring. just my 2cent

Hey guys, is it just me or does this 5227 have a crooked date window??? I can see the font of the number above the 8 in the date window in the photo..

May016 you are right mate. The date wheel is misaligned. You should reject it and get a new one.

Hi Tobel, thanks for the catch. I will ask them to change the time on the watch so that I can see if the date wheel is still mis-aligned or not...

I just tried the gen RG at PP AD today.
Just wow!!! Beautiful classy watch, and now I want one! I was thinking of having a RG watch and I found the perfect model for me.

My only concern is the quality of RG plating on Rep watches. I saw the other post on a ZF aquanaut for which the gold started to fade only after 3 months...

It’s a shame that Rep makers do not offer solid gold option. Would be expensive but I remember various posts in the AP section where many of us would pay the price! For this beauty I will!

How does the black dial compare to the gen?

Are all the Patek logo too bold for all the ZF models or just for the ivory dial?
