The 15202 genuine has a date set function that works when you pull the crown out, you wind the stem and when you pass 12 o'clock and the date moves forward, you then go backwards and pass 9 o'clock, then go forward past 12 o'clock and the date will change again. This function is also present on ZF and XF 15202.

Am I understanding that the ZF 16202 does not function like the 15202 for the date change I described above? Does the genuine 16202 have a quick set date function like 15400 or 15500? Little confused by some of the previous posts that reference date changing on the 16202 now.
Afaik the gen 16202 has a new caliber and a quick date change setting.

I would love to get the RG one. Such a beautiful watch. But Won’t buy any Rep with a Myoata 9015 anymore. The Rotor sound is terrible.
All wiseacres waiting to bitch me for my ignorance. I know with some grease some of you could silence it but if I spent $500+ on a watch I want it good from factory

In my QC video, my TD did the forward and back date change thing on my new ZF 16202 just like on the 15202.

I believe the genuine 16202 has the same quick set function as the 15400 and 15500. If ZF used the same movement as the ZF and XF 15202 in their 16202 then it is not like the genuine date setting function.

Correct.

I'm curious, I have the 16202 ZF green dial and I assure you that the date change is not with the fast change. Let us know as soon as it arrives

Exactly, but I'd like to see a video of the new ZF 16202 to verify the date changing procedure.

I would also like to see a video of the date change function on the ZF 16202. Although it seems we have confirmation from @monemone71

that the date function is the same as on the ZF 15202.

@Fettekatze thank you for posting the video. This clears that ZF 16202 has the same movement as the ZF 15202 and does not have the quick set date function as the genuine 16202.

Also, be aware that the genuine green dial 16202 has a slightly different bracelet clasp than the genuine blue dial 16202.

Some TDs, such as Trusty show the wrong bracelet clasp on the ZF green dial 16202.

Despite the lack of quick date change on the ZF 16202 I will still get the green dial. It looks quite well done on the dial and the details are well done on engravings.

Here's my watch-vs QC video. He goes through the dates in the second half.
Nice looking watch, but ZF did not change the date setting procedure from 15202 to 16202 which is disappointing. I wonder if ZF or the TD is trying to get rid of its remaining stock of Miyota 9015 movements destined for the 15202 model and passing it off as 16202s. Certainly looks like it.

That's most likely. I'm okay with it though. I always wanted the ZF 15202 and this is just that with a slightly better looking backside. It's getting de-pizza'd as soon as it arrives. DP dial is neat looking but not quite accurate enough to be worth the expense.

What's interesting is that PureTime in their description of the ZF 16202 says that ZF is using a "Custom Made A7121 Movement at 28800vph (which has same 2 gear setting spots and quick date adjusting function same as genuine)".

That means that ZF is aware of the quick date set function and the crown stem should have two positions when you pull it out to set the date.

I hope that the future QCs we get will have the correct 16202 date set functionality. I am waiting for my QC but I will make sure I get a video of the date function.

IMHO the main problem of the 16202st is not the operating mechanism of the date, but the off color, once again, of the blue dial. Much, much better the effect of green, even if it weighs less than half of the platinum gen (105 gr vs 255 gr)

This so called “same as gen” function is in fact fundamental for modern watches and any low end automatic watch with date function would function the same way.

The 16202 simply updates the 15202 in this aspect and removes the outdated and cumbersome date setting function of its predecessor.

So it’s fair to say that the 16202 now has the same basic date setting function as most other modern 3 hand automatic watch with a date function.
