Anyone has any idea what crystal reference number for this grey dial Yachtmaster?

Is it B25-295-C12-C1 or B25-295-CAR-C1? Or another crystal altogether?

About to pull the trigger on this beauty, but cant decide on which movement.

SA3135
Asian 2824-2 25j
Swiss ETA 2824-2 25j

Was also thinking about swapping in a gen 3135 and gen crystal down the road, if possible.

I heard that the 3135 is not good and has to be maintained a lot.28** series is better I think.ask the experts here then Only buy.

if you are sure about swapping those parts in, get SA3135, they tend to be more gen spec cases. If you're not sure, then go with Asian clone.

Mine doesn't do that. It would cost nothing to take the back off and have a quick look . Might be as simple as a detached retaining screw and might prevent potential damage if it gets in the wrong place.

first off im going to ask why you are asking.......cause nowadays ppl are just calling a2836-2 a 2836....

that being said the 2836 has different keyless parts than the 2836-2.

the 2836 has a smaller stem and the related parts that fit the stem , functionally they are the same and most of the parts will interchange....

I asked because I saw a video in which the watch guy zoomed in the movement and it was written 2836-2 in small letters.

ahhh OK .....

the 2836 was introduced first.

later it was revised to a 2836-1, which had a different design stem the sliding area was straight on the 2836-1 and helicoidal on the 2836.

when the 2836-2 was introduced , the stem diameter was enlarged.

with each revision, the mating parts of the keyless works were also changed to work with the new designs .

so if you have a 2836, and want to use a stem off a 2836-2, the sliding pinion and crown gear would also have to be swapped .

there were minor differences in the springs used between the too also (in the keyless area)

the 3135 ?

im assuming you mean the clone of the 3135...

there are 3 diffy clone 3135s

a3135, which is really a 2836 with fake 3135 bridges ...no diffy in function

sa3135 which is a poor clone of the 3135...stay away IMO .....you cant get parts for it

yuki 3135 an almost real clone , manygen 3135 parts will work on the movement...main diffy is the balance area, gen 3135 has a unsprung balance which is adjusted by moving screw weights on the balance wheel to increase the rotational inertia...the yuki had a traditional regulator....

I think the As3135 is better than it was. The most reported problems were derived from a weak (too thin) stem and some problems in the keyless. I believe they have improved the keyless and the stem is definitely fatter and stronger, The three I have run very well and the keyless function feels very gen like, firm and positive.
The great advantage of this movement is a better case due to the crown position and correct keyless function.

Regarding spares, just buy a spare AS3135 movement
