Do you mind posting a couple of straight on shots. The early batch had over magnified date. Yours seems good in that respect. Rehaut looks deep in that shot.

Mine has the exact over magnified date and cyclops doesn't exactly sit straight above the date window, guessing they used the wrong crystals or was a batch fault. So I can assume mine is an early XF too. I tried installing a gen spec crystal but the modder couldn't do it saying it was sitting too high above the bezel. Maybe that's because of the case for the 2836.. Who knows

Look at how much the wrong cyclops distorts the date mag and position and check on the second photo how the date sits straight lol

^Yeh, mine was the same. Date someone looks like a black eye (swollen and an eye sore).

Maybe try changing the gasket? Can’t remember if it’s a taller or shorter gasket needed to reduce magnification.

Thank you. Coincidentally I received this 2 years later to the day from finishing my ARF SD43 build.

Do you still have both of your XF/VSF SD43s?

It’s attributes are +10% better in almost every way.

In my case the only things I give the win to the ARF is the bracelet and clasp are tighter clearances and less rattly. And the XF has the instant tell on the 1 in 1000 where there isn’t a serif but should be.

Everything else the vsf/xf wins out imo:
Bezel insert shinier black
Bezel insert engraving and paint sharp
Pip shape/profile/color
Bezel scallops/polish/feel
Helium escape valve fitment
Sels (although a bit too recessed)
Dial color and printing
Lume intensity
XSTAL and Blackhole cyclops
Rehaut engraving and finish
The crown and tube are nice and this one in particular the crown is upright when screwed down (the ocd in me LOVES this)

In terms of case shape, crown guard shape, caseback… I never get hung up on these. Not sure which is better.

Everyone of the things I mentioned…the XF/VSF is 10% better. The ARF SD43 is still an unbelievable watch. 2 years ago I couldn’t imagine it getting any better than that.

But, you know, here it is.

It passes the wife test too. 3 out of 3 tries.

Wife test is as follows:
spotlessly clean both watches
Brush if necessary
Synchronize date and time
Make them as identical as possible

Ask her which one she likes better impromptu. I ask indoors in normal light, indoors in bright light and outdoors.

All 3, she picked the XF/VSF.

Is the ARF bracelet better than the XF? Seems to be IMO. (And I totally agree with the above comments about it.)

Crown guards on the XF are gen spec. On arf they are not. The XF 126600 is a fantastic watch!
