Pics on the forum MOSTLY exaggerate flaws and tells. In real life most dials are 30+ mm in diameters and unless you carry a loupe around a lot of the issues seen in the forum will not be issues in real life. Yes the finer details can always be appreciated by the connoisseur with the right knowledge and expertise but to most others, they just peruse the forum and base their decisions based on the opinions and posts of others.

Going by this argument T, shouldn’t all reps be avoided since there will be issues present whether or not you are bothered by them or not? If you’re going to go with the basis of rejecting or exchanging or fixing up a watch because of a flaw or defect “being there” (whether you see or are bothered by it or otherwise) then all reps which are imperfect, ergo 100% of them, become unacceptable.

Not really A, that is not what I meant. As you well know there are flaws you can accept and others that stand out. It is very personal feeling. For me this gap stands out - on pictures and videos. Now will it bother me in real life? I don’t know. I guess the only way is to get one and see how I feel about it

Even my friend who owns the Gen is remarking how lovely this watch will be if the date change mechanism is buttery smoother.
If only AP changes the movement...
Somehow the DNA of the jumbo is also the 2121, and even with its defects you just mentioned the 2121 is a piece of history that has powered the 2 most desirable sport watches of the history.

It’s just a scam perpetuated by internet nerds on gen forum. It’s a crap movement. Needs updating. If I want to read the history, I’ll do it for free. Not paying well over retail for a shit movement because the internet said it’s the thing to do
