Thanks SHB for the timely reminder. It explains why the hand base is bigger than desirable
Who in this world doesn't like Pizza's? lol

It’s just a scam perpetuated by internet nerds on gen forum. It’s a crap movement. Needs updating. If I want to read the history, I’ll do it for free. Not paying well over retail for a shit movement because the internet said it’s the thing to do
Well that's your opinion which I might respect but I don't share.
Having the chance to wear from time to time a 15202 I can tell you that it is the nicest watch I ve ever had....
To each his own and I respect that E.
I personally share the same opinion about the 15202 movement. I think it can benefit from modernizing. But I do get the appeal of the watch for many. Just a matter of preference.

Both of you may be right, but between a "need of modernizing" and "a crappy movement" just good for the trash, there should be a way in the middle...
Once again I have no tech opinion on the movement, you know I am not a technical person, of course the date solution is a pain, but the watch is nice as it is and if changing the movement means changing the dimensions, we saw the result on the 15300, which of course if a nice watch but a totally different style....
I do understand that 39mm seems to be the “perfect” royal oak size for many, much like the 40mm which used to be the go to size chosen by Rolex. The date change mechanism is a pain on the 15202 and the movement is flimsy compared with a lot of modern calibers. Many stems have popped off from the movement leaving owners dismayed and in shock. I think it’s possible to have a more robust cal 2121 with some tweaks to keep everyone happy.

I hope they improve the calendar date change procedures and keep the same size dimensions.
I did not feel too comfortable wearing my XF V2, because it looked like a 40k watch (robbers, envy...). If the rumor about discontinuing the 15202 drives prices further up, I will soon feel uncomfortable wearing it because it looks like a 100k watch

I agree that most people don't know AP.
But regardless of the value of the object of robbery, it is a violation of personal rights and a risk of personal safety in any robbing. I am sure that even if you are walking home with a $1 bread, it does not feel good to be held at knife point and robbed of said bread. So I would say that IMHO getting robbed of anything is a deal of some magnitude, regardless of the material value of the loss.
brother where is the bread at $1 ? You clearly haven't bought bread ever in your life. Aristocrats are a curse !
You’re absolutely right....Sometimes I like to exaggerate for effect. I just feel that the movement could be so much better (I’m no stranger to gen). The whole genta fairy tale story, that they use to bump up prices, without improving technology, winds me up a little. Think I’m just getting old. Lol.
I’m also not a fan of the blue dyed plucked chicken skin dial (as Legend, so eloquently put it lol). It looks great under loupe or close up pics but on your wrist, it’s kinda ugly at most angles.
The 39mm case is lovely tho!

ON one hand there might be a feeling tike this... fear , on the other hand according to the position you have in the society one might not feel well when wearing a watch that cost the price of a luxury car...And even if AP (in our case) is not known as Rolex, the Royal oak in general are not really the kind of watches that are remaining unnoticed...a trained perso with a minimum of sensitivity immediately notice that it looks like a luxury watch, and then the usual first question comes....
