Why some people don’t reply the posts?

There are so many things to say that I can't say anything. I'm speechless. I do feel better now.

It does suck when you take the time to help a fellow card carrying member with a problem and they don't respond with a thank you. It sucks even more when the they critique your answer! That's one of the times I usually mention PecMan and he comes running and hijacks the thread. Then I get to move it to the Looney Bin. :lol:

I think it's easy to lose track of posts, especially older ones which may go unanswered for more than a week.

I try to search my 'recent' in case someone replies, and acknowledge them. But if there's another post to me later I may miss it.

The truth is that alot of people will read a thread because they might want to know the answer themselves. I have opened alot of threads myself to see what the replies are, so i might learn something. im guilty of not leaving replies only because i didnt have an answer.

This IS certainly a social environment; a community that runs on communication. However much we like polite discourse it doesn't always occur. Of course there is no requirement for members to be sociable, or even to post! There are many, many members of this forum who only lurk, and shop the for sale section. The active, chatty membership is a much smaller base. I, for one, am proud to count myself a part of that exclusive bunch.
Also, just ask kendog says, I browse and read threads that have nothing to do with me. I read about the newest ceramic Sub when I don't care for Rolex at all. I read because I learn about the hobby, and I learn about the members. I feel like I "know" many of the regular posters, and that's a feeling that comes from taking in all the knowledge, quips, and quirks these great folks offer! :thumbsup:

How about where I live there is a thing called freedom of expression and opinion, and while frustrating that people may read you post and not reply, they certainly are not obligated to chime in.

But I agree with for the sole reason of making this and opportunity to up one the post whoring glws by posting on every topic one word:

agree or +1

In my defense or case, I am still learning and cannot possibly answer technical questions. Next best thing is to read the post and hopefully learn from it and move on.

I too have tried to help members with a straight question, to which they don't bother to reply to. I agree, that is bad form.
The worst example: a guy once asked me about the assembly of the bezel on a breit montbrillans legende. I offered to post a breakdown, and took apart the entire watch the same weekend. ONLY t help this guy out.
now, I was happy when I finished uploading 25 pics to help a guy out, and checked if he had found it helpfull. he never commented though.

I know it's too much to ask, but ale is right to remind us.
