Which Seamaster 300 - VSF vs ORF

Hey guys, I’m on the edge of buying a Seamaster 300 ceramic and torn between VSF and ORF - for the black dial

I read all the topics on the matter but as ORF is a new one, couldn’t find many comparisons.

Have anyone got their hands on the ORF and do you find it more gen-like or higher quality overall than the VSF?

How is dial, bracelet, bezel insert & action, crown winding feeling, crystal?

For me, looks and the general feeling of the watch is more important than details in the movement behind the plates as I’m not a watchmaker and neither people around me.

In the same position. Would love a Seamaster Diver 300 with black dial. But the TD's I asked so far are offering ORF's when you ask for VSF's. So unless you got really lucky and found someone who actually has stock on VSF, or want to buy from other members. There isn't really a choice to be made.

Orf is 100% better than vsf.

The only thing I noticed was the vsf crystal is slightly better and when the lume is charged vsf is more intense. The bezel scalloping is better on vsf but it's not a make or break.

The orf bracelet is vastly better, winding in movement feels better

^well, if you’re after gen aesthetic, then crystal, dial(lume) and bezel are a big deal usually. The winding is irrelevant when it comes to gen like optics and the vsf bracelet isn’t exactly bad. Anything else about the ORF that made you conclude it is 100% better

think the ORF regulator, mainspring is more gen like in the ORF than the VSF. But the VSF print/engraving is better on the movement.

Agree, the print/engraving on the movement on the ORF is kinda an instant tell since they are printing in Black "Omega" while gen is engraved, think VSF is also doing engraved on that part.

In my opinion with VSF you always do the best choice, i actually have two reps of this factory and looks stunning

Ahh great! But do you know if we can source a Vsf crystal without buying a donor watch?

The lume color uncharged is significantly worse and way too domed. The crystal I think it's because of a/r color difference, orf looking like it was a little blue. The printing on the orf is better colored imo

The vsf bracelet is complete shit in comparison to orf bracelet. The vsf bracelet midlink polishing extremely uneven. Links nowhere as smooth and way more jingly.

The case shape of the orf is way better but the bezel scalloping is better on vsf

Don't have a gen or an ORF to compare.
These VSF however does the job pretty damn well (apologies for the crappy photos in advance).

Does anyone know if a VSF crystal would fit an ORF? I just replaced my vsf with an orf and the first thing I noticed was the massive glare on the crystal. It’s not great… check them out side by side: https://imgur.com/a/nB6EACJ

also, didn’t think of switching out the bezel until seeing this post so will be doing that too!
