I just reviewed this thread that J___ shared of the build Rudy was doing for him. Here are a couple of photos Rudy sent me of the watch I bought, recognize them?

These are just two of nine photos he sent me, but these two are clearly from this other build.

I'm not sure what all this means but it's starting to get harder to undestand what is going on here.

For the record I had asked Rudy to make a sales thread and have it approved before I send payment under the advice of RadDave. I'm knew to all this and I wanted to do things by the book, but I also knew Rudy has a seller reputation. So when he got short with me and said "this watch is getting sold before it ever makes it to a sales thread to you or someone ekse" I just went ahead with it as I didn't want to offend him. And of course I really wanted that sweet build!

I'm just glad I paid by regular paypal if this is as bad as we suspect it is.

Damn... Same pics. This is starting to look bad. I trusted Rudy a lot and was giving him the benefit of doubt the whole time. But if he sent your old pics from another build than that changes things.

Personally i hate this gift stuff myself......but its what everyone wanted so its allowed... it does protect the buyer to some degree.....USE DISCRESSION

I agree. It protects the buyer. One time I had a papal charge back from a member when his package was lost. I specifically asked him if he wanted insurance and he said " no it will be ok". PayPal wasn't hearing any of that and they told me that if I wanted to recover the money or pckage that I could work with USPS myself and they buyer was getting his money back.

LMAO Dave. Good one. I won't take paypal if its not a gift unless I know the person well. I have heard horror stories. From friends on here where they get charged back and loose thousands.

Although I have to say. There are a lot of bad situations coming up here. You guys have your hands full. People are coming out the woodwork trying to rip people off. I have never seen so many.

This is amazing. I for one think that this is a misunderstanding. I know that the evidence shows that he is beating people of money. I think he is most likely back in the hospital. Not that I am hoping for that but I am hoping for that.

He is a staple in this forum. He has lead me in the right direction more than once. I have got parts from him. I do not know him personally but have viewed him from a distance.

I also saw him here last week and sent him a PM. He didn't reply. I didn't think anything of it because again we are not best friends or anything. I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He is an amazing person and again, a staple of RWI. I can't lose faith his him that fast.

The shipping thing could have been a mistake done by his family. I can see it being something as stupid as him in the hospital telling his wife to ship the box on the table. I don't know. I have read this mans post and seen what he has done for people. I can't see him scamming people.

The only thing that has me worried is the year long shipping thing. That sounds weird and I can say I would never allow or wait for a watch that I paid for over a year. A few months. Yes. But he was in and out of the hospital so I can see why. I just pray he is ok and reaches out soon.

Guys until I know different I'm going with the above. Rudy is a very unwell chap, very very unwell and I'm assuming he's in hospital.

Guys - just so everyone is clear about Rudy and "his" builds. I knew him on a personal basis before he went MIA (due to health challenges) a few months back.

As far as I know he does not modify his own watches. I actually did a few builds for him before he started working with tagfan. None of his watches should be marketed as "Rudy modded". Last time I checked he only swapped inserts and bracelets.

So all this applies to the times when Rudy was all super active on here before he went MIA the last two times.

I will keep the names of the people involved censored due to privacy issues.



Basically back at the time when Rudy and some other guys were building watches, he got them to sell him parts for his builds with the idea to pay them weekly, like they were banks.

Guy #1 was in this with Rudy first. Then Rudy pays very sporadically. Then although this issue should've been noticed but it wasn't guy #2 was 'suckered' into the payment plan method.
Same rules apply again just that #2 gets paid more often and not as sporadically as guy #1.

Obviously frustration is laying high on the two since Rudy was paying his weekly pays very slow and not absolutely not on time nor on plan.

The amounts of the money he sent kept on getting weirder.
When it was logical amounts (example: $25) in the beginning, it changed to really really weird amounts (example: $7.53)

And if this wasn't enough of it already, he kept on buying expensive parts from m2m for other projects he wasn't even building then when contact to him was able to be made, he said he didn't have money to pay them back etc.

Then as anyone else would ask themselves.. 'How can he be buying $4k for YM parts and not pay me back if he's broke?'
Yeah I'm sure we all would..

As to questions why he couldn't pay on time again and what happened again, Rudy blamed everything from the moon cycle to strong winds to medical bills and health issues.
And once advised it would be a possibility to sell off the parts he had scored he took it like he was just told to kill his son with a spoon.

After all that he started to get real bitchy.

In the end of this all when it was all paid back after months of begging to send payments, contact to Rudy was lost since.

Since the 26th of December? That's when Esavy lost comms. I think the last day in fact. So the contact being lost since may vary by user. What a shame.

When you say working tracking number.. That tells me, you got one that doesn't work. Fake or Hasn't been shipped. Another Red Flag

It would be nice if y'all could wait it out this week but I don't think it will matter since it's reversible and I have both of your words, that should watches show up, you pay the man.

No worries bro, I didn't mean to suggest that I'm in a rush for anyone to respond. I'm ok to wait a couple days to see what transpires. Esavy paid gift so I'm not sure he has any recourse. I've paid goods and services so I know that no matter what as long as I don't recieve a package or sign for a package I will have my money back ten days after I file a claim. I can wait. I hope Rudy is ok and this all sorts itself out but I fear the worst because there seems to be a lot of evidence piling up.

We all hope Rudy is ok. Of course. However as you said, evidence is piling up. Enough to NoSale him for now, Until we can get to the bottom of this.

I'd like to validate this entire story for accuracy. It's a shame to see a long standing member fall on hard times but it's no excuse for the claims being asserted in this thread.

It's really a shame. This hobby built on trust cyclically runs into these sad stories of long standings members screwing others.

I find it ironic because Rudy once reported me over a $50 sale over 4 business days of no comms on my behalf. Mind you this was during a time when RWI servers were down. He spared no time to report me. Obviously the stakes here are much higher and the misconception of what "work" he performs is under serious question.

Again, it's sad to see the mess that's turning up and I hope everyone is able to find resolution to their problems.
