I would warn anyone before purchasing on AliExpress, you take the risk of paying for something and never getting your item or money back.
I've made about 10 purchases on there before and I had one go bad and it was for an $180 rep.
The package was seized, the dealer refused to give me my money back. I filed a dispute and Aliexpress said they would not refund me because they couldn't be sure that the package that was sized contained my watch....are you kidding me!!!!

Not all TDs would replace either.

Ali just go by the tracking number supplied by the seller. If it doesn't show as being delivered by the delivery date set when you make the purchase then it is automatically refunded

So how do you explain this? Just something to be aware of before you commit to a purchase on Aliexpress....

That guy is also selling $500-$600 reps . Not all state that because they dont want to scare people away that are not the typical rep buyer. If I had no idea of the risk I would 2nd guess buying if i read that even if the seizure percentage may be reasonable. At his prices I bet he is getting mostly experienced rep buyer who know the game. The smaller ones tend not to do that

I'd like to hear what some of our TD's think about AE. For me anything over $100 I'll buy from a TD. For cheap beaters I can chance it off of AE. I really see AE competing with E-bay which has dropped their standards and upped their fees i the last few years.

My point is why should it matter what liabilities someone like this excludes if Aliexpress' policy is, as stakeholder, to refund unless there is delivery confirmation? I fear it may be more of a free-for-all environment than it lets on. Caveat Emptor - let the buyer beware.

They can put what they want on their page. Ali decide if and when they release the payment to the seller.

"AliExpress will make full refund to you under the following conditions:
No shipment has been made by the supplier
The supplier fails to provide the correct tracking number during the transaction process
Items were confiscated by customs authorities due to false declaration by the supplier or if the supplier ships prohibited/fake or infringing items
If it’s proven that the goods you ordered were lost in transit

If the supplier produces proof from the shipping company that you’ve received the order, you will not receive a refund."

I know mine had a 30 day delivery guarantee but Aliexpress didn't care even when I "escalated" the dispute. They kept arguing that they would only refund me if I could prove that customs actually had my watch. All I could show is that my watch was still inbound into customs...and it still is to this day- almost 2 months later.

Just select non delivered when opening a dispute. Most items are sent HK post to here in the UK so you wouldn't get a letter anyway in rare event of a seizure. Tracking won't show delivered anyway if seized so full refund.

Not about watches; but I ordered a microphone for a Ham radio on Ali Express. I received an earpiece. Ali Expresses response was that a package was delivered, as such I had no recourse.

Yes, it was a package; but, it wasn't what I ordered.

His PAM prices are quite high, too. $565.00 for a 390 is not a good deal.

Once you recognize the shipment is taking to long you have to request an extension of the aliexpress coverage. The seller has to approve but they will typically extend the insurance. I requested an additional 10 days which the seller obliged. Just like TD's here the watch sometimes (mostly) has to be ordered from the factory. The seller will usually create a shipment label once money is cleared so that means the clock starts on the insurance even though the watch is a week from being ready and in sellers hands. You have to pay attention to thaty because it can eat up ur time u get for insurance from Aliexpress.

Very easy solve in the future. U video ur opening and send that as proof of the wrong item. That will usually get a win in ur favor.

I am not saying it is a bad idea; but. . .

If I am dealing with someone I consider so shady that I even consider setting up a video camera in order to document the opening of the package . . .

No, I would just pass on dealing with that person.

Fair point, but I now video opening packages from trusted dealers too, which has just got me out of a real potential pickle!

I didn't need to extend the coverage on the item it was still within the time. It was really the seller who was being uncooperative when I opened the dispute. After he refused to refund me I escalated the dispute with Aliexpress. They are suppose to step in and resolve things. They stepped in and favored the dealer in my situation because they said that I couldn't prove that the watch was in customs. I could prove the package was there but I of course couldn't prove the contents. The dealer eventually disappeared from Aliexpress and I took up the dispute with VISA. Moral of the story- only deal with sellers that have a large amount of feedback...or there's more risk

Every one has bad stories from any of these sources.. its perhaps the nature of internet commerce...

I just cut the TD price more than in half on a watch and upgrade the quality.. yep... I am loving seeing the bargains but the are hidden in a lot of not the best stuff... edited for the holi-day
