This thread has gone all gangstah with fast cars and vintage watches. It's like living in a movie. And how's it that almost all watch lovers are petrolheads including me?? Seems like men love watches and cars.

I've had extensive time in GT-Rs. A buddy of mine had (from new) a 2009 that he DD even in winter time in PA. He doesn't even have a garage (off street parking next to his house. He put 38K miles on it without any issues. Of course his remained completely stock.
He traded it on a 2015 GT-R. The difference between the two was night and day. The 2009 felt more digital. When pushed hard, you could feel the computers trying to figure out what to do. It was not playful at all and just felt odd to me.
The 2015 was much more organic feeling with a more natural feeling to the controls and how the car went around corners. I could get the car to rotate and oversteer a little bit as well. It was totally stock as well. Super high limits for sure, but both cars rode very rough. Like they didn't have the valving on the shocks done properly. I told him he could put coil-overs on it to actually improve the ride, but ultimately, his back couldn't take it anymore and he had to sell it.

Where do you live? I hardly every see anything that is exotic. Lambo, R8, GT3RS, Ford GT, classic P-cars etc. every now and then.

If I had the money, I'd buy a 964 C2 and modify it to my liking. Full suspension, engine and interior. Wider fenders (turbo like, nothing huge) with a nice duck-bill out back on gold E88s

I'm an avid racer and have my SCCA license and race in the American Endurance Racing series when we can (my partner and I share the car).
This is from the 12 hour Devil in the Dark at NJMP a couple of years ago. We started 50th (last place) and finished 5th overall.

Awesome brother!! And I agree on all accounts!! I do not want to derail this thread anymore then it has taken, but I'm up in Bergen county NJ. Look up our local cars and caffe, CarsandCaffe on IG. We meet up once a month somewhere up here, if you go to NJMP, I guess you're somewhere in NJ as well. PM if you have any questions man! We have every single exotic you can dream of.

Sorry to 'drive' this thread a bit more OT, but I saw the recent German love and thought I'd share my old Merc with the crowd. She stays garaged and my g37 sees all the daily grind.

I had a 400e w124 for years and regret selling it back in '07, after I had enough to make the move on a 500e, I snatched up a clean / low mileage example a few yrs back.

How many people can say they own a car that was built by Porsche and Mercedes? :) 1 of 374 1994 500e's to make it stateside. She sure is fun on the highway and surprises some people in modern luxo-sedans.

What makes it tick?
A beautiful German v8 5.0 and torque torque torque! :)

Now that's what I am thinking about.

I hate to break this to you guys, but I just bought TheSociety's Rolex 6263 Daytona Paul Newman Mk. 1 Tiffany & Co. I just couldn't pass this opportunity up. He was building me a similar 6263 and I sent him a text telling him that I have his 6263 as my wallpaper and was drooling over it. He offered it up to me and I took it!

Should have it on Wednesday. Yes, it was VERY hard to sleep last night!

Cars and watches - two hobbies that aren't cheap, but sure are fun.

So excited for you bro! I will miss this watch so much but ultimately having a gold newman build and a gold 2499 Patek build means some of these beauties must find new homes. And I don't think there is a better home for this watch!!

what a bloody beauty, very rare indeed. I'm still hunting down for my S72 AMG W140 coupe, apparently all these rare AMG mercedes classics are taken up by some guy in UAE.

Real happy for you, remember to post some wrist shots! I started to save up some for 1665, just don't have the extra right now. Comex, drsd or great white, just can't make up my mind....

Ok so I have WAYYY too many builds going on but this is something very special. As you know most COMEX cases are, well, WRONG! They have protruding HEV, bad crownguards (too thick), and bad dials, pearl etc you name it! The worst is the caseback are not engraved in a gen like way.

I present to you here, a seriously gorgeous 5514 case and dial. I'll be using a cal 1520 (not the 1570 pictured) but the movement pictured is so stunning I have to include it - it's a 1570 (technically a 1575 since it has the date function) that will be in a 1680 build!

Did this watch go a customer? I'd love to see it complete.
