While I also prefer manual for normal driving, you will really appreciate the automatic transmission at 300km/h with other cars left, right and behind you, going roughly the same speed or sometimes 1/3 of your speed

I used to be a die hard manual guy, but once you start getting into supercar speeds its so nice to have a dual clutch. The V8 R8 is still slow enough that shifting is fun. Add another 150-300hp and you'll see the magic of having that paddle shift.

The R8 was a big dream of mine and I had to make it a reality. Totally smitten with this car and wearing vintage Rolexes haha. I drove it out the first night and man...I dunno. I'm outta words...

For sure. My friends 458 and now new 488 is absolutely insane. My cayman 981 S had dual clutch. Also amazing. The problem I have is that I just don't feel as connected to the car. I guess I'm just old school. Which fits the watches so that's fine haha
