The reason why people take offense when their profession and their title is questioned is because it's a big part of their identity. If you criticize ones profession and title you criticize ones identity.

maui.. were you rapped by a plumber or something? why the hostilites?

I mean not to throw stones.. but you're just a car mechanic? Does that make you better than a plumber?

I have so many certificates and qualifications its ridiculous. That is the point I am a upper management person now. Don't even work on tools anymore. And all I say when asked is I'm a mechanic. Not a international multi regional electrical mechanical plumbing explosives engineer for human safety and security while operating motor vehicles. Nope just a mechanic. Very highly skilled and extensively trained mechanic yeah, but still just a mechanic just the same.
Now as for you throwing stones nobody was speaking to you, about you, or with you on this matter. You just decided to chime in with your insults. And up until this point I have ignored you as I found you insignificant. But now I feel the urge to let you know YOUR A ASS HAT.

Why would you care about what someone on the internet thinks about you ? How does it affect my life what anyone on a forum says or thinks ? It doesn't. This guy flew off the handle over a simple joke Maui made. Not sure how I got lumped in by making a comment. The whole thing is stupid.

My best friends started off washing cars at a dealership when he was in school. He became a Master Tech and now sits on the Executive Board for one of the major car manufacturers. I guess being an auto mechanic isn't that bad.

I'm a business, man.

I wear whatever depending on the mood, day and who I'm interacting with that day.
Generally stick to sport watches unless I'm wearing a suit, when I bust out my gen patek.

Yes but you also have to do one year of hands on experience in the plumbing field..automotive engineering and mechanical engineering are two different things...

I have worked with PPF/UA local on Long Island as a lobbyist and attorney. I actually have the title and job description lists from are local bcause titles and exoerience effect salary/rates. I do have to say I never heard of the title Plumber Mechanic, but maybe it is different with you local?? Anyway, who gives a crap about a title as long as your paid for you skill level and experience. It's a great job and very hard to get. No need to get aggravated. The guys are just busting your chops a bit.

In any case, I am an attorney with a practice focused on commercial litigation and corporate restructuring. I usually match my watches to my suit, but I work in a conservative environment --so nothing too sporty or flashy. My exp2, AP 15400, pp nautilus and IWC ingenieur laureus see regular wrist time.

I work in project finance and rotate a different watch every day, depending on the color of my tie or who I am meeting with that day... Mix in gens, reps, frankens and my home made watches.

I sit on the E-board for the UA JAC in Southern Cal. I handle certified payroll reports and have every prevailing wage classification for federal jobs. There is no such classification. The UA classifications are not zone specific. They are National. I highly doubt he is a UA hand.

Busted really, i have nothing to hide or prove, you dont have to sit on any board to get wage classifications its public information. I am not a ua hand and even though i work on military installations i receive salary just like supers, pm, and gm...if i was classified i wouldnt be salary..hopefully you can put a rest to this.. As far as being a rat the world doesnt revolve around unions and im sure their are plenty of tradesmen here that are non union so i guess their all rats as well..

Who do you think fought to set those prevailing wages ? You think contractors pay you those wages out of the goodness of their heart ? Typical rat worker. You reap the benefits of what Union guys have fought for. You don't even know what your job title is. I knew you were a rat from the beginning. It was just a matter of time till you admitted it.

Unions were created because they were needed. Over the years, they have at many times proved their worth.

This is no longer true. Despite their historic and significant contributions to how Americans value a proper balance-of-power equation between management and labor, unions are now a net detriment in the struggle for American companies to compete in a global economy.

I sell equipment that is installed by a variety of tradesman in large construction projects. I can say unequivocally Union projects run longer, over-budget as compared to similar projects from non union in my experience.
