SuperLory really have no idea too. When we asked them to locate the package about 5months ago, the tracking disappeared and from then on its not possible to know where the package is at. Must be hard for them to track all the lost parcels lol. But i was very happy it came LOL

So my 15202 franken project is coming along. No more roadblocks. The movement holder is completed. Without the gen rubber gasket or bezel, I had to use what I had. This meant cutting out the movement ring from the base watch. Case clamps and new stem are ordered. Should be a nice Christmas present to myself. Maybe I'll treat myself to a skeletonized rotor too :)

Hey what case are you using for your project ZF or XF? I just got my XF V2 and it looks amazing from the outside but to my disappointment the bezel and dial ring are a single piece (I think?) so with the 2121 in the case (perfect fit) there is a big gap between the dial and dial ring.

Edit: Just saw you were using the XF V1. Oh man the case and back on the V1 were a single piece? I do seem to recall that some version of the 15202 had that construction. Now I kinda wish I had that instead of the V2.

slavix I've stated that I'm using a genuine caseback. Currently there is no rep that has a single piece making this build the most accurate 15202 replica out there. People are working on making single piece custom cases though which is interesting.

I'd love to get my hands on one of those. Heck I wish someone would make a 5402 case. I may play around with the parts that came with the watch but damn the bezel is a letdown.

You mentioned resistance when setting? Did you oil the canon pinion? There should be some resistance but not too much. You wouldnt want teeth to bend or break while setting.

Here's my XF v2 build so far.
Pros: 2121 fit right in, perfectly aligned with tube and the movement clamps as well.
Cons: dial ring and bezel are a single piece so theres little I can do without major work.
Case is also a bit thick. Debating whether or not to shave the underside of the case.

I know everyone is complaining about the bracelet being loose on the case. The holes of both the case and bracelet are almost 1mm in diameter, however the pin in it is only 0.8, so replacing the pin with a thicker one is a quick fix.

The first thing I'd like to fix is the dial ring. If anyone knows of someone who could machine one please let me know. Alternatively I could make one myself if I had a steel ring I could alter.

I will have to correct a couple things I said in my previous post(s). I had a bit of free time at work after hours so I wanted to confirm whether or not the bezel and ring are separate or not.
First of all the bezel and dial ring are in fact two pieces, however in AP the ring usually sits on the dial/case, and the bezel sits on top of it. In the XF v2 the bezel sits on the case, and the ring sits inside the bezel under the crystal.
If you attempt to do this mod you will need a new crystal gasket. 295 diameter 0.8 high, 0.35 thick. The gasket prevented the ring from coming out so I had to force it out. Normally gaskets stay fine but this one deformed on me.
I shaved the bezel in 3 places. The place where the ring sits, the bottom of the bezel, and the first step of the bottom of the bezel. I think the crystal sits directly on top of the ring so setting it lower also allowed the crystal to go a bit lower. I may do a second attempt but I'm satisfied for now. Though I still have to shave the bezel gasket somehow.

Secondly, the holes of the bracelet and case are ~1.2 (1.18?) diameter, not 1.0 as I stated, and the pin it originally comes with is ~1mm (0.97) thick. Either way it adds up to about 0.4mm of play so replacing the pin will make the bracelet somewhat less loose than it comes originally. I could not fit a 1.2 pin in the hole I probably have to shave a few microns off so I stuck a 1.1 in it for now.

I will be doing more work on this project in the future as time permits and I'll keep posting updates. My goal is to make this as close to 1:1 in size as possible. Before anyone asks I don't do mods. I work full-time as a watchmaker and my shop is super busy, plus it's xmas season, but I'll do my best to answer any questions to assist anyone who'd like to mod their own watch in the same manner.

Edit: Possible future mod? If anyone knows who could get this done for me I'd appreciate it. https://clickpix.org/images/ZIrOfR.jpg
I can probably cut it myself but I know nothing of engraving. Thinking of maybe laser engraving first but the guy I use misses sometimes.

This reminds me of an AP that came for service with "some parts missing". Usually this means a missing a wheel or two. We open the watch and its just a module without a movement. We had a good laugh.

Beautiful piece though! Keep your eyes open for a 3126 on ebay. They pop up every once in a while.

Is this watch basically a gen movement away from being called a genestein? Or is "genestein" not something really applicable to AP offshores?
