Good question i think it is better to plate it IP like gold but i dont have IP

From these (not particularly great) photos, both inserts look very similar. Up close are they pretty much identical, or is one better than the other, and if so, why?

His and spongebobs are just about identical, difference I can see in bobs is he machines the edge bevel as per gen on his inserts before plating so the numerals have the factory bevel edge...
