I worked in prisons before retirement. Inmates who had stolen Christmas, beat their wives and neighbors and worse, yet they had someone who sent money and visited. For the most part you gotta be a real piece of work to have nobody

This particular bloke had multiple people offer to help. And generally that's how this place works. It is a family.

But no - he refused help and chose the path he walked. And paid the price. And may well have to pay again.

Saddening. But kinda good in a way as I believe he'll learn a hard lesson. And it's a lesson for other scammers too.

Some people only learn lessons the hard way. I think we’re all like that as children but by the time we’re adults we’ve figured out that way sucks. That’s why courts are lenient on kids and step up the punishment each successive offense. At least that’s how they did things when I was growing up. Nowadays the courts don’t do shit and then one day the person walks out the store with a tv or nail gun and gets 25 years as a habitual offender.

Shocking, yes...but not unbelievable. Anybody is capable of anything, given the right or wrong circumstances. Much like our first Owner/Leader, if anyone remembers that.

Anyway, this isn't the wake up call he's looking for. It's going to take a severe Come To Hayseuss moment before he sees the light. I just hope he sees it and that right soon.

Do the right thing @TA8088 ... Reach out to someone and accept the help offered. You already know what's on the horizon, and the Dogs of War here are indeed not kind...and one - Proxy - has already started barking. We're here to help; accept it.

@occb2 Robert enters my thoughts most days. @TA8088 knowing him he probably empathised for you and forgave you for scamming him. He was a better person than I am. I could never forgive an ex staff member for doing that and especially not to Robert as he was the most generous member, I knew here, to other forum members in terms of giving his time to answer questions in detail; doing work for free and giving away both gen and rep parts to help other members.

Robert was the type of guy who would have given some money to Eric had he asked. The fact Eric scammed someone like that and ran off like a coward is disgraceful.
