DON'T go around scaring me about my f*cking future and job career. I have a family here to feed, don't u think your little hobby is worth more than a hobby. So i lose my job then what? Trailboss you feel happy about that my whole family gonna lose our house, cars and shit like that?
It is not my job to worry about your family, it is my job to keep buyers here safe from scammers such as you; your family is not my concern it is yours and if you lose house/cars/whatever it will be on your head for scamming and then not making right. Dave has amassed a whole lotta info on you and in fact I'd say in the time he's has he's outdone himself.

As for scaring you that would imply a threats and son, I don't make threats I make promises. If you want to see said promises in action let us down by not completing this refund by the end of the 19th. I'm sure Dave will be more than happy to make sure its kept.

Oh yeah, and this?

Good Lord man, "a few swear words"? You plead for your family and yet you insult his? Your blasphemy is beyond the pale of what any decent human being would consider reasonable and then you bring race into it? Is that how your mama brought you up? Somehow I doubt it at least I hope she didn't! It is difficult to imagine a more vile torrent of abuse issuing from any man; you, sir are sorely in need of help if you think talking to people like that will get you anywhere in life and now it is to be seen as well should it become necessary to add your details to this page. I would not hire such a foul mouthed excuse for a man regardless of your proficiency at your job. A man who can not express himself without stooping to that level of abuse is not someone I would want in my employ and I think most employers would agree.

So did he get the refund? Lol

Whoa what a roller coaster thread. DAVE I feel for you having to deal with this one but you're the right mod for the job.

Seller should probably risk his career and steal some of the meds given to complete crazies because wow

Can't wait for this to trickle down into his personal life. He deserves any fallout he gets

chris3007
This individual made unsoliticed contact with me via PM here asking if I had a 029, shortly after the uneventful sale of several other Panerai watches. I told him I did, but was not interested in the selling the watch - hence why it was not listed for sale! He wanted to see photos anyway. The files were large, so I requested and received his personal email and used that for delivering the images. I would guess at least 50 emails (not PMs) were subsequently exchanged over a period of days to weeks, and ultimately I agreed to sell the piece. I was never asked to post it for sale here at RWI thus did not do so, since this transaction evolved off the forum.

That said, I am not exactly clear on what your definition of a 'backdoor' sale might be... I have always considered them to be deals negotiated using RWI which intentionally bypass the forum sales rules. I have seen posts in non-sales sections, or even other members' sale postings, basically inviting a purchase ("I have one available, PM me" or "Just got this piece in but not sure I am going to keep it") or via an unsolicited PM requesting a sell/trade of an item that has not been listed for sale in the appropriate section.

Before I wrote this reply I did take the time to review all the stickies in the sales section - including the RWI SALES RULES. Also I searched the both the forum itself and Knowledge Base for the terms 'backdoor' and 'back door'. Perhaps I overlooked it, it is late here and I am tired so very possible, but I could not find anything where this practice is specifically prohibited by forum staff. There were some postings about if a transaction developing off a WTB listing constituted a backdoor sale, and some sexual references, but that was about it. Well if I did miss it, please point me in the right direction so I can educate myself.

Indeed that rant is worthy of the White Phosphorus Challenge!

I got scammed for $9500 on a gen sale years ago. As angry as I was, I was nowhere near that nasty... and that definitely is not the tone to use with the guy who just fixed your watch and may need to work on it again. I put a huge amount of effort into trying to make this right, but when I saw how he was verbally abusive to Strodda I gave up. And when an obvious scam listing appeared on RWI, it was time to alert the forum staff.

It ain't the 19th in AZ as yet.

Prisoner is in Virginia, not AZ as the profile shows... it's currently 2 a.m. on the 19th there.

The language and abusive nature of that e-mail sample keeps astounding me. I've bought lemons before, and did I whine, no, I sucked it up, sent it off to one of our watchsmiths, paid for the repairs and was done with it. I did not bother the seller...I consider it the cost of this hobby.

Wow I didn't know something like this happens here!!
I was keen on an AP RO silver one a couple of days back then got sidetracked, the good seller even asked me if he should keep it blocked for me, but I didn't notice and now it's sold and I was too sad!!
But this did make me forget my non-buyers/lazy-buyers remorse, if there is such a thing :)
Anyway few observations:
1. Thuan is an interesting character, even when under immense pressure he actually tried to sell that watch again! I don't judge good or bad, he's very very interesting, that's all I'm saying.
2. Herr Heisenberg and many others seem to be people of great intellect, I'm honoured to have made acquaintance of sorts, cheers!
3. Trailboss's reply was epic and he indeed is the alpha here!
4. If Dev can do so much as to pull someone's complete biodata, I mean literally, he should join the CIA, well then may be he is already, who knows?
5. The amount of the money is insignificant here, the question is why would someone do it? But then again Thuan is an interesting character, may be he has his own reasoning. He is a fascinatingly complex character.

Well on a pleasant change of topic, I have post graduate/doctoral training in nuclear physics and weapon design has always been a primary academic interest. Maybe I'd have contracted with the military if I didn't pursue a medical career... the low and medium energy stuff I deal with is rather boring!

I wonder if you are referring to the Castle Bravo event ? The US gov miscalculated the fusion potential of the lithium isotope mix, resulting a blast several times more powerful than the theoretical maximum predicted yield. It resulted in a massive radiologic disaster too.

The Russian 'Tsar Bomba' was the largest yield weapon ever detonated, and also the cleanest based on fallout/yield... had they used an fissionable tamper it would have been about double the yield with orders of magnitude more fallout. Luckily most fission fallout decays fairly rapidly; I-131 is a major product which I use almost daily at work - it is the 'magic bullet' that achieves a 99% cure rate for common forms of thyroid cancer. Also it's now being tagged to various monoclonal antibodies to fight other cancers.

Anyone interested in this stuff should watch the old documentary 'Trinity and Beyond'... it's fascinating and worthwhile history lesson.

Wow like I promised to STFU and wait for the refund to be done and end it here. I didn't mean to cause any more troubles but deep down I just feel like a lot of guys here thinking I am bad guy (yes 100% for scamming, I don't ever deny it).
First, let me start this once again and Heisenberg (well I still respected you most coz you are a physician, it is just my nature so did I ever curse at you?) need to get one thing straight. Please look at the PM one by one and tell the guys exactly what happened please!!!
- I pm him asked this: "sorry but this is a non-related question but i wonder if you have any Pam029 for sale. Thank you"
- heisenberg replied: "I do have a very nice 029A build. if you're interested I can send pics tonight." <-- Here I never forced him to sell it to me like he SAID, he introduced that to me! Please confirm it Heisenberg
- My next PM: "Thanks for getting back to me. Yes please do, and send me the spec too if u can. I am looking forward to your pm. By the way, i am in VA. Will it be a problem for shipping?"
- and his next PM: "Virginia ? Not a problem at all... I'm in Arizona. I generally send via USPS Priority 2-day." <-- again, did I ever force him to sell me anything? he wanted to sell the piece! Please confirm again: did he sound like he is not interested in selling the watch ???
- this is his next PM: "Here are some pics

Wasn't planning on selling this one as I like it a lot, and took a long time to get the parts for. But if you really want it we can talk price." <-- and he sent me pics <-- Please I am an inmate in here and have no right to say anything, but this is an hard fact. Nobody made this up, please read it and judge it yourself if he or I actually engage more in the sale. If you still think it was me. I have nothing else to say.
If you need more PM proof to show that he was actually the one that tried to sell me the piece, I will take my whole weekend off to get all the PMs and emails here for your entertainment.
By the way, if you don't want to sell anything, would you even consider lowering the price for it?? it doesn't sound right to me. Please get the fact straight.

Let me tell you this, I bought a BK black sub. it came with a problem. He asked to fix it for FREE right away. And now after 1 month, not a single problem!
BK didn't promise me that his movement got serviced 6 months ago and it will last a longggg time! That is right!

NO i was not delusional. I did say to heisenberg that the only reason I bought this watch for $475 was because it was just serviced 6 months ago and he promised it will last a longgg time!!! Do you think I was stupid enough to pay $475 for an asian clone when the brand new one from TD costs $300. By the way, I asked sead, and he said it was out of stock (that was another reason I bought his watch)

Big difference is BK is a dealer on the forum and trying to please a customer. This was a private party sale.

BK installs new Swiss ETA or Sellita movements, and charges for them. And he is a DEALER, so yes of course he will provide some sort of warranty.

As I told you in numerous emails, this 029 had an Asian movement which was serviced by Strodda. While the expectation is that it would be trouble free for a good amount of time, i told you Asian movements are not as robust and could not tell you how long it would last. And I did not offer you any extended warranty. Your first 'problem' was that you couldn't figure out how to wind it - you sent it back and I returned it to you working perfectly well - as you acknowledged. Weeks later it stops all the sudden, and you expect me to give you a refund...

I get that you want me or Strodda to be accountable for the gear train issue that subsequently manifested, but i told you as I private seller I do not provide any extended warranty or refund policy.

If you hadn't started launching attacks on me and particularly Strodda, and sent the piece back to him to fix the purported keyless issue as you told me you did, then you'd already have the watch back and fully functional to where you could enjoy wearing it or sell it at or near what you paid.
