Just the good history, and all of the sudden ripping people off. Especially as you mentioned, for trivial amounts. You know, a spammer gets your email account, they start flinging spam in every direction. Maybe this person has had their accounts compromised by someone who is looking to make a quick buck. Regardless, I hope you can get it worked out. It is really a pain in the ass that people like that are out there.
